you get the warrior from the first crystal,where you get your first jobs......

For reference you gain class levels based on the number of actions your characters perform, when a character has performed enough turns at the end of the battle he gains a class level.

It's possible to exploit this using defend to gain a class level per battle and quickly make your characters overpowered.
