you gotta be pretty tuff to be in the NHL ive never really agreed with don cherry on that. on average the europian hockey players aren't as tuff but nothing is set in stone its not like people in canada are a different blood line the europians unless there native or non white.

I like him.. Hes wrong about Grapes but I like him.. What is the rule they changed because of what he did to Brodeur? He didnt touch him or stand in the blue ice.. He screened him and he took maximum risk of getting hit with the puck so his team could score.. Im a goalie and I loved it.

The only exeption to that rule would be the atlanta thrashers.

Minnesota loss their first team (the north stars) and now their games are always sold out. Same thing with Ottawa. Pittsburg once had a team named the pirates in the 20 or 30s. What is dumb is to think that because a franchise had monetary problems in one city (in the economical context of that time) no other new franchise could be successful there 15 years+ later. The only exeption to that rule would be the atlanta thrashers.

The only thing that grabs me about Avery is that he doesn't care about the rules or even anything to do with hockey. When he steps on the ice, he plays it his way; now, that's fine if you're some other pest like McCarty, who actually contributes, but if you're Avery, that means frustrating people into making stupid plays, causing fights to drag key players out of the game, just taking pest shit to a level it doesn't need to be.
