Those animals selected for the corrida are allowed to live a year longer than those assigned to the slaughterhouse. Bulls to be fought by novilleros (beginners) are supposed to be three years old and those fought by full matadors are supposed to be at least four.

Those animals selected for the corrida are allowed to live a year longer than those assigned to the slaughterhouse. Bulls to be fought by novilleros (beginners) are supposed to be three years old and those fought by full matadors are supposed to be at least four.

before the bulls are brought out for an event, they live their whole lives grazing in open land. they're treated way better than most of the meat we eat. and at least they have a chance to fight back. it's rare, but bulls Have killed bullfighters. and if the bull wins, it grazes for life.

Many Spaniards also hate bullfighting and would like it to end. People should also see how cows are regularly slaughtered: stunned, hung from a hook upsidedown and slit open often while still alive and kicking. They don't even have the chance to gore and kill the guy who is going to make them ground meat... I was in a slaughter house once and since then I'm a vegetarian.
A bullfight is an honest way to show beef eaters how that meat gets to their plate...

Bullfighting is greatly controversial. I find both the politically correct attitudes: "Toros is a sick form of entertainment" and also "Toros has to be preserved just because it is a tradition" inadequate.
It is true that it is organised slaughter.
it has to do with mankind's intelligence (organisation, strategy) winning over natural force.
