The Talmud is NOT the holy book of Judaism,
it's a collection of commentary and interpretation of the scripture, sort of like a FAQ - You can find hundreds and thousands of verses in it that completely contradict eachother - it won't help you to cherry-pick the ones that sound bad, doesn't support your argument.
Besides, most of it was written almost 2000 years ago, Jews do not adhere to the laws written there. Most Jews today have never even read the Talmud.
