@yokoshozx This is from the International version. This fight is from an area simuliar to the Monster Arena, where you can mix and match creatures after you capture them. As far as the video itself goes, I wasn't too surprised to see Shinra go for power and turn a lil evil. Also, it's been confirmed that VII and X-2 are related, from the(Japan only, shock right?) Final Fantasy X Ultimania Ω Guide. The Shinra from X-2 is an ancestor of president in VII.

For those of you that are wondering what the hell happened:

While using an Ultima Weapon that he later upgraded into an Omega Weapon as part of his researching the Farplane's energy, Shinra is consumed in the Fiend's pyreflies and is transformed into the Strongest Shinra. The story behind it is that Shinra tried to manufacture the dark energy in the Farplane, and was possessed by the Omega Weapon. When defeated, Shinra apparently returns to normal.

Shinra is in fact the "first president" of Shinra, Inc. ... he and his followers tried to get Mako out of Spira. But they were not able to (don't know why). And long after Shinra's death (I think read it was about 1000 years after X-2), Shinra, Inc. travelled through space and found the planet Gaia. There, the experiments with Mako worked and they started using this energy. And who's played FFVII knows what came then ^^

At what point does this happen in the game? I got 99% completion (i choked on a mission in part 1 without realizing it unitl way later), and I don't recall this at all. Is it some japanese release only of X-2 or something. As for all this VII and X connection, I say its completely bogus. That conversation with Shrina about the energy is an easter egg in my opinion
