Good job on the knee strap recommendation! I bought one today, and am really impressed. For the pain I am experiencing, this makes a noticeable improvement. I have had this ache for about ten days and hope that it goes away soon. I enjoy my exercise and want to get back 100%.
Forget about straps, use tape it works a lot better. I had this injury for like a year and a half, lots of stretching, eccentrics and strengthening fixed me once and for all.
A little goofy, but there was some good info in there. Only advice is to lower the volume of the background music next time so you voice comes across better. Thanks.
I've had jumpers knee for several years now going from high school sports to college sports. The doctor's said to rest for 2-3 months...I rested for 4 and it just came back anyway. So I used the knee brace in this clip and it didn't work at all! Now I'm having surgery...
I have jumpers knee, my knee cap shifts position to he right of my knee and stays there. It went out JUST now, and i fell on a sharb object, and my arm is bleeding
this is well weird as i was running and my knee gave way all of a sudden and just below my knee cap a lump appeared the size of a golf ball, i went hospital, got an x-ray, they said i pulled my patella tenden but the thing is they told me to take 2weeks+ off football, its been a week and the hard lump is still the same and it bluddy hurts when i walk or jog on it :(
I have osgood schlatters on my right knee and jumpers knee on both my knees! Far out I cant even jog sometime and I love my footy. The surgeon told me to rest in for 4 to 6 months!! Are you serious!?!?
@vin0002 yeah it takes that long. i have osgood's in my right and jumper' knee in both. it can feel good after 2 or 3 wks of doing nothing, but it'll come back. for the pain to stay gone you've got to at least lay off for a month-month1/2. if he said six mnths he had to have given you a workout regimen. over that amount of time w/o moderated exercise, you would experience atropy and muscle shortening and with tight quads, friction caused pain would increase.
well pain killers makes it worst.. it makes the pain go away but the irretation in ur knee is still their and if the pain is gone from the pills and u go on to do your sports it gets worst.. rehab is what im gonna do
i have osgood schlatters disease and it's really enoying the other day i just jumped off some platform wat was like 0.5meters high and i couldnt walk for like half a hour then i just hobled home and the next day i struggled to get up and out of bed
me 2.. this shit sucks... I was always the highest jumper on the basketball court.. everyone was afraid to get dunked on by me and now i can barely play..
Patellar tendinitis started when I was 16 during soccer. I'm 32 now and its worse than ever. The throbbing in my knees actually wakes me up at night and I have to nearly crawl up the stairs. I'm doing all I can now to figure out how to fix this!
I went to a traumatologist and he gave me Ibuprofen and a strap like the one in the video. I have to take the ibuprofen and wear the strap for 10 days, it should be fine after. if not they have to inject something they take from your own blood (PRP) which means it got chronic.
no worries man, just spend the money on a doctor (specifically traumatologist!, otherwise you will be wasting time between doctors who will just guess its Bursitis when its really not)
im 15 and my knees have been bothering me for half a year because i run distance and ive read the other comments that pplve posted about their injuries and i feel guilty
this is bad. Icy and advil are relief therapy but will not get rid of jumpers knee. Daily stretching of the calves, hip flexors and quads will do far more to PREVENT and recover from jumpers knee. The biggest cause is misalignment of the bones and tendons.
good advice, I am in serious pain, had surgery on meniscus and developed J Knee from too muc PT too soon...I am unable to walk without pain,,,ice helps, straps help, Celebrex seems useless so far, crying helps...
D'oh. OSD is the unnatural or exaggerated bump of bone below your knee cap. Jumper's knee often results form this but in itself is a form of tendonitis.
i've had this for a half a year, but now i do a pulse pressure treatment or what its called and that helps. I tottaly recomend that if you dont want to die with jumper knee. But shit in the middle of my treatment i crashed with a car with my bicycle and broke my neck and my jaw
i play basketball ive had this about a year know rested for a few months and cied constantly started playing agen know had anti inflams everyfucking thing!used to be able to jump high too!!!fuckin pissing me off
Yeah dudes i sympathize. im 24 and have had this since i was 11. some days i can hardly take a step forward. i have bone growths on my tendons. seriously pissed that there isnt anything that can be done. i was on a 1st div rugby team. had to quit at 19. most ppl are lucky and get over it. some dont.
jumper's knee isn't like a tear or anything its just aggrivated and swollen so i sometimes have to just understand that pain is sometimes part of the game so i just get through it. i still have to try one of those brace things though i hear they don't work for everyone. good lookin out
you have flatfeet, you know?
