There is a recording of the rebel yell that was made in 1935 at a reunion of Gettysburg veterans on the battlefield. CSA and Union veterans shaking hands across the stone wall east of the Emmitsburg Road at the high water mark on Cemetery Ridge - one of the soutern soldiers pulls of his hat and twirls it about echoing the rebel yell. Another turns to the camera saying, "the was for Abigail", his late wife. These gentlemen were in their 80 and 90s at that time.
