  • How is this weird? its simple physics!

  • @Heatherhickman1986lo it looks cool and its counter inuitive

  • ow cooooool

  • Life Glitch

  • I found this out ages ago. After tour done with the fry pan after making bacon, it does that. It entertained me for almost an hour, until I realized my bacon went cold

  • fuckin sissy, go wash your hands!

  • Another useless info to satisfy curious minds.

  • wait, water does that anyway with wax, this shows kids how to get burnt.

  • the mythbusters used this effect to dip their hands in molten lead :D :P

  • Flubber, is this your white cousin?

  • BUTT CHEEKS

  • mythbusters :D

  • T1000

  • weeeeeeeeeeeee!!

  • (~ ̄▽ ̄)~

  • I just did it. It works!!!!

  • hes lying people its oil now heat up a pan and poor some cold oil in it and watch the fun begin

  • @RustyGunsM10 you are a retard.... this really works with water. it happen to me lots of times when i was cooking

  • Cool.....

  • fans: search 'twantard' on youtube.

  • it's 4:38 NIGHT.

i should go to bed :/

  • @237lime. I did! Lol

  • !O.o!

  • Wonder what would happen with the T1000 in it ^^

  • @237lime That's exactly how I found it.

  • how many ppl got to this by typing in "wierd"?

  • MINDFUCK

  • O.o

  • 1:04 Penis xD

  • Wierd side of youtube :D how did i get here from American idol?

  • @Eileen8490 Wrong turn at the cat vs bear video ... it happens all the time. :o\

  • thumbs up if you typed weird in the searched box

  • @TheTrippzz yes i did and its alway late at night whats that all about

  • i did it its very cool :)

  • Leidenfrost effect is weird.

  • I didnt find this weird... I found this kinda dumb

  • in the slow-motion part it looked more like mercury :)

  • JAPIERDOLE CO ZA BIT, MUSZE TO ZNALEZC W SIECI

  • please gimme title of that music in film!!!

  • @xxRAZRxx DAMN RIGHT, ITS FUCCIN AWESOME

  • hey dont check out my vids ;)

  • yh i already know this lol

  • wow

  • I HAVE TO GET A LIFE! SHIT

  • common sense

  • did this when i was a kid, spitting directly at the burner

  • i remember this from terminator.

  • u should have called it "WWE" instead of "Weird Water Experiment"

  • Humans are 70% water : now touch the pan

  • @SuperRaptorz 70% not 100%..

  • @SuperRaptorz You get 30% burnt. :D

  • A phenomenon in which a liquid, in near contact with a mass significantly hotter than the liquid's boiling point, produces an insulating vapor layer which keeps that liquid from boiling rapidly. One sprinkles water in a skillet to gauge its temperature-if the skillet's temperature is at or above the Leidenfrost point, the water skitters across the metal and takes longer to evaporate than it would in a skillet that is above boiling temperature, but below the temperature of the Leidenfrost point

  • when you tilt it, it would evaporate. ON TO YOUR FUCKING LENS

  • Leidenfrost effect.

  • Shisenhousen on ze leidenfrosten

  • i tried this... and my kitchen was burn....

  • voodoo

  • that's how you test if a pan is hot enough to fry! most cooks know of this "magic".

  • The mystery to this puzzle is the Leidenfrost effect. When a liquid touches a surface that is much greater than the liquid's boiling point, a vapor layer is produced under the liquid and lifts the liquid slightly from direct contact with the heat source. And thus, that is why you still see water. The water will still evaporate but it would take a much longer time.

  • @WhiteEmerald1991 It's still so cool!

  • @esca8652 It would also be a great money maker. Just bet with people and you will sure make money. :)

  • @WhiteEmerald1991 Thanks for explaining that.

  • @barbielynnne you are welcome. :)

  • Nurd Rage taught me the science behind this <:

  • The Leidenfrost Effect? It's the same reason your hand won't freeze immediately when you pour liquid nitrogen straight onto your hand.

  • the water burning so fast makes a cushion of gas lifting the water blob so it doesnt all burn away fast.....you can do this wit liquid nitrogen on the ground and your floor too

  • 205 people put it on to long and burned down their house LOL

  • Its a new glitch in real life hope i can try this before its patched.

  • Water has to be pure from contaminants and minerals for it to work. This also works in the microwave w/a cup.

  • i was gonna try this but all of my dishes are dirty

  • I'm like "Wow this is cool! Im gonna try this later!" LOL

  • Watch in slow motion as the water hits the pan...............wtf?

  • i swear to god, if you keep messing with reality i will report you. jk, love your vids

  • Hours... lol uh... no the air at the bottom of the pan is heating also and will heat the drop(s) from the side and top as it rises out so even though they're being suspended by steam emission from the bottom they will still lose their water vapor at an accelerated rate and be gone long before HOURS. lol

  • Basically the water droplets stay afloat on steam. It's called the Leidenfrost effect.

  • its because of the H-Bridges, isnt it ?

  • Leidenfrost effect.

  • Stop hacking Real life or I will report u

  • its because of thermodynamic equilibrium

  • i do dat expermiment every day when im making 2 minutes noodles lmao

  • blob blob blob

  • yes the moving effects of the steam, the atom and I we sing a lullaby.

  • aliens

  • WOW THAT IS SICKKKKKKKKKKKKK

  • This is caused the Leidenfrost effect. When a liquid touches a surface hotter than itself, the liquid evaporates, yes? Well, the pan here is so hot that the water evaporates into water vapour and the vapour is what's keeping the water up. Due to the layer of water vapour keeping up the droplet, the water skitters around.

  • I tried that this morning and my step dad was yelling at me I was like were not poor we can get more pans then I told him to go on YouTube he did I told him to type in the name of this video he did not press enter and no suggestions poped up so he was like you lying their ain't know video like that I said press enter retard and I proved him wrong it was funny

  • @Djangolulu:me too !! :>

  • Remember when you could watch a video without commercial?

Remember when music videos were uploaded by user and not VEVO

Remember when all the info was to the right of the video?

Remember you could rate a video 1-5 stars?

Remember the famous yellow subscribe button?

Remember when the users controlled the site and not corporations?

    WE MISS THE OLD YOUTUBE!

Post this in every video and lets start a youtube revolution!

Thumbs up 2 keep at the top of the page!

  • @jhurmekoski get adblock and shut-up, stars were not wanted by 80% of people so your the odd one out, Vevo, help Youtube stay out of USAs copyright trobles so get over it

  • Aliens

  • thums up if u knew this already

  • I can't try this experiment as i am not a women, therefore i do not know how to use a pan.

  • Why react on a movie which is privat?

  • YEAH JUST LIKE A LAVA HEHEHE

  • this made me thirsty

  • ive noticed the effect with about 6 years.

i always thought it was magic until i got old enough ;)

  • @djangolulu lol so did i

  • thumbs up if you tiped weird and clicked on this video

  • meanwhile you just ruined your pan

  • i searched "weird"

  • @Djangolulu same :D

  • @Djangolulu omg same

  • @Djangolulu OMG so did I i was more looking to see if i could get to "the weird side of youtube" lol

  • @Djangolulu Me too.

  • @Djangolulu me too!

  • no water was harmed in the making of this video

  • Liedenfrost effect my friend.

  • You can see the orb at 0:42

  • water is amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • @KaKaGaNu Water particles are slightly electrically charged, so they tend to stick to each other. It's the same way if you pour water down glass because glass also has a slight charge.

  • i wonder what makes the water to cluster back together? do they have some kind of memory?

  • Liquid Nitrogen dose this too XD Except you dont need that much heat lol

  • @KenderikGamer no excess heat at all actually. room temperature is sufficient enough for the leidenfrost effect to occur with liquid nitrogen.

  • @grndmstrjoe Yea XD, I watched it somewhere on youtube XD

  • FLUBBER =D

  • you can make the bad guy from the terminator 2 out of that

  • is the water hot when floating?

  • Try tea bagging the bottom of that pan and see what happens

  • music sounded like alien porn

  • @crsigi lol

  • @xxmisschicful I read this when you posted, laughed my fucking bollocks off!!! BUT 2 days later i'm not DEAD...which is a bit of a pain really as I quit my job and spent all my money on whores, drugs, and a really nice scarf because you said and I quote; "THIS IS SO SCARY CAUSE IT ACTUALLY WORKS".

    You live and learn eh?

  • i have a pot like that. are you sure it won't blow up or something if i keep the heat on high for too long?? i wanna try this

  • @bobchillaxd nope the pan will turn itsself into a bomb and blow up

  • Its because the atoms are like "Holy shit that's hot!!!"

  • @Himynameisdevin2009 lmfaooooo thats the true hypthesis :P

  • That's not weird. THIS is weird. /watch?v=Teze77v1MXA

  • @memyselfandcorey haha fuck you

  • @Thejammerkid Love you too buddy!

  • @memyselfandcorey ahahaha

  • what is with the deep voice got to my page!

  • got lost in youtube again >.>

  • thats a good way to warp your pan!

  • H2o is theortically the most sophisticated substance , taking 98 percent of unuiverses matter , only substance wjhen one gas combines with hydrogen does it it hecome liquid

  • skynet is back!

  • lol @ these people talking all sexist about science. Can't you just appreciate the science without being pricks to one another? Sexist people have serious ego problems and like to trash talk others of the opposite sex to feel special and superior about themselves and their gender. All you've done is prove to the entire world what kind of douches you people really are. Good job. Keep failing and you'll have a full-time job @ failblog forsure! lol

  • The same thing happens if the pan is cold....weird

  • all the likes came from the men, we women knew this shit happens -.-'

  • @butterskullz

women must be pretty stupid if they let an empty pan sit on the stove for long periods of time.

  • @kimchiilee Rofl!

  • @butterskullz At least you know your place (just kidding please don't kill me).

  • @AGrayPhantom as long as u seem scared im fine ;D

  • this didnt work for us

  • way to not explain the science behind why that happens

  • this happens with liquid nitrogen on a floor

  • Why am i watching this?

  • Neat song for this video.

  • and now you can grow a pet plant that MoVes and closes its leaves when you Tickle It! Search Pet tickleme plant to grow your own

  • FLUBBER!

  • Water is just playing hard to get.

Pot's like "C'mon on baby, you know I'm hot"

  • Aliens

  • dancing water

  • That's not weird. THIS is weird. /watch?v=Teze77v1MXA

  • thumbs up if you pee in the shower

  • It is because when the pan gets hot enough, the water creates steam that lifts the water, the water doesn't get touched until the steam goes away. Then, it starts again.

  • This is not weird at all

  • @babylylipopy so true!

  • The Leidenfrost effect - the pan is soo hot that a blanket of bubbles keeps the water "floating" above the pan

  • @goneforever99 well technically its because when the water touches the pan, the water evaporates to steam and the steam acts like an insulator between the hot pan and the water

  • @goneforever99 its like the liquid nitrogen on the room floor

  • Leidenfrost effect

  • You need to get laid.

  • you hardly visit the kitchen do you?

  • I once burned a pan, and when I picked it up, the bottom separated, and molten metal spilled out onto the linloeum. Luckily that did not get on me. So, you don't want to let your pan sit tooo long.

  • I am the fucking police.

  • WOW did you see that water???

  • @SHITHAPPENSLIKABOSS There was water?

  • @SHITHAPPENSLIKABOSS Shit also happens to this guy.
