Powerful letter. Stand up and fight for what is right and just. That Robin is such a Hobag. Hate her so much. Donovans got the mom from hell. A hatchet faced old bitch probably with chronic dry cunt syndrome.
Abraham and the holocaust survivor aspect is one of the things I really, REALLY wish they'd include in the new V series on ABC. I like the new series, but Grandpa Abraham was the coolest thing in the old series for me. lol
When he tells his mom some woman taught him morals, she looks at him like "who the fuck was that bitch?! I never taught you anything like that, I'm a cunt!"
Yes, the letter reading scene was inspiring but...as long as Daniel lives there, making it a safe house is just plain dumb. "Hi, we know your son is a loyal member of the Nazi party and still lives with you. Can we hide some Jews here?"
@brinpol That actually happened in WW2, though. Hiding Jews or others in homes that had nazi sympathizers/members in it. It was rare, but it did occur.
you I knew this mini series had a troubled history, mainly due to brutal murder of Dominque Dunne, who was the orignal Robin Maxwell. I wonder if their are stills of her of her scenes being shot before her Murder.
I wonder how the series would have continued/concluded with Kenneth Johnson still being the one with production rights of the series. He was reportedly not happy to see The Final Battle and thought it lacked some of his original vision.
I think the The Final Battle is still a good mini-series and a fine follow up of the original mini-series.
Sadly they decided to milk the concept further by making V-the series, which turned the show into a soap opera with aliens in it.
@McLarenMercedes KJ's DVD commentary he states he wanted to do a new installment of the saga once a year as a one off special and show the war as it progressed possibly over many years. But NBC wanted a weekly series and he couldn't stop them. He did cowrite Final Battle but credited himself as Lillian Weezer. You can read KJ's V: The Second Generation novel which takes place 20 years later to see what he had in mind.
julies not much of a humanitarian, she wants to sacrifice those people...what you do is board the alien spaceships, get the people to fight after you thaw them out,
Julie is really cool. Even now, female characters like hers are rare in films and TV. They were even rarer when this was made. A woman who manages to be smart, heroic, and a great leader, without losing her compassion for others. Scriptwriters could take a lesson here.
Absolutely! The only way we're sold this type of character today is the Fifth Element method: calling attention to the character's sex appeal (which is merely a facsimile and not genuine sex appeal) to make it possible for inept audiences to suspend their disbelief long enough to tolerate the character throughout the film. This is why I rarely see a new film. They're (Hollywood) blatantly implying that audiences are semi-conscious automatons with their weak plots, characters and dialogue.
@swansdaughter It was also realistic. Some people complain about her breaking down and crying quite a bit, but that's how most people in her position would react...a grad student that everyone is looking to to save the world? Heck, most people would so the same...
Juliet is a very pretty girl!
