@flaviarusu : i prefer live in a beautiful city without a lot of noises and parties than in an ugly city with noises and parties . But no matter France and Spain have got beautiful cities both of them but different way of life .
@eliavel1 : French have a lot of faults but trust me in Japan there is more inhabitants than in France and you will find less people who speaks english there than in FR . And its same for US with foreign languages . Languages is a weak point for french people even if they learn several languages at school and starts learning english young , dont think they are proud to dont speak english that isnt true but for some french people english language will be usefull so what ? :)
Why French people are so snobnoxious ? With such a beautiful country they have, four hundred kinds of cheese, good wine and awesome landscape, they could me more agreeable ! And what is this inexplicable pride not to speak English ? Eh ?
Nice is a nice city and that all! I was bored to death there, luckily we were with a car and we were able to visit Monaco and move to Menton, and these are places that are worth visiting. Anyway, my conclusion after seeing Cote D'Azur: Visit Spain!
I have just returned from a few day's in Nice. I already had ideas about the French Riviera and what I could expect to see, but after spending time there I realised that my thoughts and perception did not do justice to the architecture the diversity of exotic trees and unexpected surprises like the fountains. That's not the mention the mountains quelle toile du fond. I have never seen such manmade beauty in complete synthesis with with natural beauty. A real demi paradis.
i have been living for some time in nice, i can def say it is a great city, but it also lacks the dynamism (in culture and events) that many other cities in france have... but the nature areound nice is definitely splendid
Me and my partner have been visiting Nice for 8 years we have had an apartment there for 5 years and we go out every six weeks just arrived back yesterday and had a great time. Shame the beach was closed one day I think this was due to the bad storm in April where the sea came over onto the road and they were being very careful.
I am planning to move to France this summer and Nice is def at the top of the list. I visited b4 and I agree w/ most of you that Nice has more character then any other place. @hcanuck7 Yeah, I'm american and know that now :D Right when I got off the train there was a franch man who helps us find our hotel. There are good and bad people everywhere PERIOD.
I always thought French people were pieces of shit, but when I went here on vacation I only met 2 french assholes, the rest of the people were great, and the french females are def above average...
I love France and the french. Its a wonderful and diverse country. So much to do and so many different kinds of people, like anywhere. I have always found them really great and so have my friends. @crystalclear999 I love France too! I may only be 17 but I already want to move there. I went there last summer to Paris. This year im going to Nice for 3 week then a friend's house in aix-en-provence. dont worry I didnt meet him online hes a foreign exchange student at my school hHAHa

I know france very well but this is my first time to go Nice, Im there in Sept also, with my husband and some friends. Might see you there. Any good places to eat that you might recommend. Have a good holiday.
As far as places to eat are concerned, we're just going to play it by ear and perhaps get some recommendations from the hotel. But there's a lovely ice-cream shop called Fennochio's on the Cours Saleya that we'vve heard great things about so definitely going there at some stage!!
Hi Thanks for the tip. I had heard about the ice-cream palour from a friend, who was there last year. She said they had the most amazing flavours, so worth a visit. Im doing the same and will try and see where the locals eat, its always a good indication. Have a lovely holiday . A Beintot

Nice was definetly one of the best places I saw while I was in Europe, it was sooooooo Kick back and relaxed...god I wish I could go again soon, and the women there are sooooo beautiful.
Fuck yeah, nights out in the old town are shit hot!!
Some of the bars are amazing. And they are affordable unlike monaco, where there are like 50 euro entrance fee's then it's 45 euro for a beer. *cough* Jimmys *cough*
im in Nice at the moment its the 1st time ive been abroad...by myself im 21 from England and im SO SO imoressed with how friendly everybody is! compared to English ppl (which is what i am) are so much friendlier and less. the aptmosphere compared to England is so nice and layed back (i live in probably the nicest part of England as well). but looking at other comments i see many things are the same. however im a lone traveller who keeps myself to myself. such a nice aptmosphere
as a citizen of this town I recommand not to pay much attention to negative comments we like to have people there day after day and we make our best to keep the city clean and attractive... and if you think it's expansive (sure it is I know much about that...) to live there don't even think about going/living in cannes, monaco or paris. there are many cheap city in France... with so few things to see and do...

Nice is a busy, bustling city with something for everyone from the bright lights of the city shops, bars, restaurants and clubs to the lure of the water with diving, swimming, boating and sunbathing to the activities of golfing, walking, cycling, sightseeing both in Nice and inland.
And a holiday apartment in the centre of Nice on the Promenade des Anglais is heaven.

Just money, tourist, old people, and more money.

Beautiful, that's for sure. But man is it expansive! I've been living there for over 20 years and sincerly it's getting bad. Truth to be said, I would prefer the tourists to go somewhere else. Real estate has become unaffordable and wages here are low in comparison to the cost of living. The only people that benefit from tourism are always the same: restaurant & bar owners, hotels... What remains for the others? The SMIC. Ask a french person to know what it is and if you can live whith it.

How insecure you must be to attack with assumptions in a attempt to divert the attention away from my claims.
an attack? instead of defense for yourself? because there are no words to justify stupidity. prove yourself when it counts.
That's okay. I am glad you are aware.
Thank you for that tip, though I am well aware of the poor hygiene/cleanliness of the french.

"when france will return nice and corsica to Italy?"
Well my American friend, it's very simple, we'll return Nice and Corsica to Italy when the USA will return:
- California, Texas and many other states to Mexico
- Alaska to Russia
- Louisiana and many other states to France
- the 13 original states to Britain
- many other areas to the Native Americans
- Iraq to Iraq
At this moment, maybe we'll return Nice and Corsica to the Italians ;)
