She falsely claimed (again) to have opposed the Bridge To Nowhere.
As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her 2 years as gov., Alaska has requested nearly $750 mil in special federal spending, the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere"
She never actively sought the bridge and when it came up in Congress she was not for it. We are not stupid, if you would have given us the money, we would have used it. It is highway funds and we have less roads than the rest of you. We have 6 times as much coastline as the rest of you combined and we have more island too.
Also we have the miltary bases that are federally funded so that is where a lot of the money goes, put 60% of the state is a Park. You need park rangers too.
I lost respect when she did the classless attacks. This election is about who can fix the U.S. So far I have not heard anything from McCain campaign. I was so disappointed with her speech, I was hoping she would rebut on how we are going to fix America. Now all I know is she's a "shrewed pitbull that wears lipstick" and she sells stuff on ebay. Her hubby is a fisher and a racer. How is that going to help America? It's not.
She offers nothing for our country, that's why she is on the attack.
It is real simple to me. You need energy to go to work, to heat your schools, to run your buses, to fly your planes. You have been lied to about Alaska. She is the will let you know the truth about drilling in the Arctic. It is not rocket science. It is a proven method that you do over and over again: drill in the winter when nothing is up there and the surface is snow covered and the cats do no harm to the tundra. There are no caribou there at that time so harming the caribou is bogus.

Great speech. Too bad most of it was lies and misleading. Sounded like McCain's party is using Bush's writers.
I want to hear their plans, not classless attacks.
Are you buzzed?
