ok this is melting my brIan, is there any way to assign pitch bend and modulation to a controller if you don't have a pitch wheel or modwheel. (a la mpk mini)
You can also "teach" your control surface to operate the parameters of FX. Bring up the FX instead of a synth, then do the click on a parameter, wiggle a knob or slider thing. Handy.
Command + L will bring up that automation parameter select window. On a side note though, I can't believe I never tried programming drums with hyper editor. This video expanded my mind on that haha. Good work. Subbed!
Hey David, I watch all your videos. There great help! For this video in specific it was very simple to understand, but for some reason for the last tip to setup the control surface. I would click on the es2 the click on options but track automation wouldnt show up. Would you know maybe why that's happening? Thanks

Thanks, i have two questions, which do you perfer for drum beats ultrbeat or this, also can you hyper edit the notes you made in hyper editor, for example put some pan on that hihat noise you put?
@SFLogicNinja Dude! This reply helped me work-around an automation problem. Not all the CC parameters i want are showing up in the standard automation menu (there are only 3 and i want to send all the general midi CC#s to the plugin.) Is there a better way to do this?
Thank-you for your videos, I been watching for a while!
i really need help, i have an m-audio oxygen 49 and i want to be able to press record on my keyboard and have it press record in logic but the learn function wont work so i dont know what to do???
Thanks so much for all the great videos. Getting my head around Logic was made so much easier once I discovered all of your great tutorials. I have been concentrating on beats lately and the Hyper Editor seems like it really is the way to go (especially for rolls and drum builds). Thanks again!
Oh my God! I have been trying to get my Juno G to do this for soooooo soooooooo sooooooooo long! It was so simple, yet so deceptive! I think I love you! Thank you so much! 5Stars!!!!!
Thank you so much for you clear practical approach to conveying the vital tricks.
I have a question. Can you have a set of midi controls per each Event? For each note or for each drum sound, its own pan its own modulation... Also, let's say in the modulation lane, what is t modulating?
you are serious bro! I cant stress how much you've help me and others just learning Logic. Appreciation isn't a strong enough word for the time and effort you put in. Thanks Cuz
I've been experimenting with the hyper editor and set up my own hyper set for EZDrummer, so I can utilise all the specific hits that aren't available in GM.
Is there a way to have your own hyper sets as presets? Other than saving my .lso file with the hyper set in it as a template?
Well ...you can't really. :) Kidding..if you cried I would take them off of course. Please don't cry. Just make videos.
So I've converted them all and I'll probably put up some rapidshare links or something, but if you'd like them I'd be happy to send then to you so you can distribute as you see fit. They're great for iphone/ipod users passing the time on the subway. It makes you look really busy .. "sorry man...no change today, I'm busy learning"
can u maybe tell me what video to watch to find out about a library i can out all my samples in. order them in drums. even samples ive made my self. stuff like that. some where in logic so i can quickly access them... im sure theres a quicker way than 'import audio file'
Greetings from Dublin. Just like to thank you for all the trouble you go to for us Logic learners. Logic should appoint you as their official Youtube ambassador.
One problem I have on the controller assignments (using a M-Audio Oxygen 8 v2) is that if I try to set one knob to cutoff and another to resonance, the last knob seems to control both params :(
Is there a way to completely reset all controller mappings?
Also...
Logic says I must click on "Learn Mode" to complete the assigning of controllers, which I keep doing.
Sounds like the 2 knobs are assigned to the same controller number. here's a program from m-audio called Enigma that you can download and reassign your controllers on the O8. Also, go to 'expert' mode in your track automation assignments and you can see your assignments. Delete them and try it again, k? Good Luck!
appreciate the time you put into these bro. i will definitely try and pass the knowledge along. You just threw in that controller assignment lesson at the end. Mad valuable!!! happy holidays.
You can save your processor by using the EXS24 and/or Reason for your kits. Ultrabeat is a bit of a processor hog. Also, This can work for sequencing beats using a third party instrument like Battery or iDrum.... and there are many other uses besides beat making. One of my faves is creating a gating effect by automating volume between 90 and 0 alternating beats. It's a killer effect. Good to hear from you p!
why is the track for my software instrument fader bar all the way down? and when i raise it to 0.0 it just goes bak down to off.

I can't find a way to make pitch bend and mod wheel appear as standard vector animation and not hyper-something?
NewgroundsOwnSBB 2 years ago
MIDI stuf has to be hyperdraw...
You can open the piano roll, click on the triangle in the lower left side, and there's your vector based stuff
