@paulgem123 - I have a model railway in my loft, and if you watch my video's, (Episode 7 and Steam Test 2 best) you get an idea of how much a baby I am! I'm doing modelling and stuff so what you should see onscreen with Ep 8 should be more realistic.

Personally, I think that's a very good idea.

It's up to you- if you want something to do, go for it now... but if you're short on money, keep yourself alive, THEN focus on this. We'll always be here....

If you do do this demos, perhaps how to LNER teak some carriages would be nice- I want to make modles of the ones in use at the Bluebell :P

Thats fine, one judge wrote extensive notes, what was interesting everyone had a different favorite video.

If there was only say 2 judges it would have been a very different result, and in saying that if I had 10 judges again the results would have been different as well.

As for the idea, I agree with Simierski about ROS shorts, they could be good. But the modelling vid would probably appeal to quite a few aspiring model makers, so that couldn't be a bad thing. The only worry is that such vids may be a bit too lengthy for YouTube? Cos, let's face it, a lot of people on here have the attention span of goldfishes.... Eeeeeeezzz good init!

Chap, part of the reason I did the BRWS "shorts" was because I knew I wasn't ready to film episode 16 directly after 15 - perhaps you could do some ROS shorts? That way you can showcase a few of the models you've made whilst preparing for episode 8.

Possibly, I have been doing shorts, things is I don't really want to do mini episodes with the models yet, as that was one of the reasons ep 8 was wrote the way it was, to show the engines in different stages etc. I feel if I do short ep's it will ruin the 'new' look I'm after when filming commences. I'll have a think though. Seems alot like the idea of the mini turorials.

In which case, why not do some shorts with the models you haven't replaced yet - Percy, Thomas, etc, those who won't be featuring much in the episode 8 storyline? That way it keeps a lid on the secrets and shapes, after all ;)

It doesn't even have to be a mini-episode - 1:30 of some random shunting manuvers and a few odd moments like running over a caterpillar...!
