  • i really hope that my explorer will reach that feat. i have a 1996 explorer with 124k on it. but it has definately seen better days. seeing this gives me hope that mine should make it there or at least come close

  • my 94 is 1200 miles away from rolling 400,000 miles am im doing a video when it happens too!!! no major problems, just fuel pump, and oil changes, and brakes.

  • @profabmachine i just bought a ford explorer 1996 eddie b version with 20000 miles on it and im putting a new transmission in it now. so i paid 500 bucks for it cause all it needed was a new transmission. did i make a good investment? and how good is the gas and how much is it to fill up? im asking you cause u have alot of miles on yours and u seem to take care of your car, im hoping i can good feeback from someone like u. thanks in advance

  • @mikeluvnyny yes good buy. the automatics seem to go out more often than the 5 speeds...i get about 18 in town and 23 highway, and thats with 33x12.50 tires so you should figure on getting about 17-20 mpg.

  • Got a 94' Explorer 4x4 XLT, just hit 227k today. Still runs like a champ. :)

  • damn man, its 2011 and my 96 hasnt even reached 100k yet

  • dud my 1998 explorer just reached 235000 with no engine work just one tune up. and thats no lie..and still running strong..

  • AHH I lied, I just remembered, we had it in the shop once for a cruise control recall notice, it took em' 10 minutes to get it fixed! Bobbie

  • Congratulations Zimmy, We just hit 138,000 on our "never been in the shop" (knock on wood) 1999 AWD White XLT. We got 120,000 on our relpaced Firestones to Michelins with the tread just below half way on em' now, might hit 200,000 on em' some day! Bobbie

  • Sold my Volvo 142, 1972 with a B20 engine, stock and original and about 325000 miles on it, last I heard the guy had it restored and running well over 375K and he kept the engine but overhauled it with new bore and parts, crankshaft was still in mint condition so replacement needed so new pistons, new valves and so on, new carb due to the original one was well over due... loved that car that before me belonged to a preatcher, he was first owner, me seccond :o)) Loved that car!

  • Yeah I got that WHOOOOO on my rear end. I have same Exploder, 150K! nice vid!

  • i have one at 150K my sis has the mountianeer with 260K no major probs with either

  • My buddy bought his 1997 Explorer 4 door brand new. It had 300k miles with original engine and transmission before he traded it in to cash for clunkers. I have 112k on my 1999 Sport, and I plan to video the moment when 200k rolls around too.

  • my 98 explorer has 250k & still running great

  • And my mom's explorer barely hits 100k with a series of problems in the past.

But I've seen 98 Quests reached 308k before your little drinker had anyhope of getting 120k.

  • How many miles on it now? Anything replaced?

  • i got a 99 ranger with 130,000 i love my truck

  • I also want to say it was sad to lose lots of quality Explorers to that bullshit C4C program...

  • I'm at 130,000. I love my X. Standard maintenance isn't as bad as other cars, and no major problems. I bet it can make it to 200k!!!!

  • Very nice, and congratulations! Ford Explorers last a long time. I believe mine is at about 180,000 miles right now and runs great! Funny thing about mine, and I'm not sure if this is with anyone else, but I can drive for about 40 extra miles while my gasoline guage says empty! Anyway, back on topic here: I can tell you keep your Explorer in great condition and we will wait to see if you hit the 300,000 milestone! Good luck!

  • my ford windstar has 102k

  • our explorer is at 240,000. Great vehicles

  • u should have gone 130... would have happened much faster! :)

  • Built Ford Tough!

  • My 96 odessey is gonna do that in a few months!

  • congrats, but my 94 explorer sport 5 speed manual has 361,000 and still running like a dream

  • 200k miles ford = people that know how to take care of there shit dumb fuck.

  • i have a 1992 pathfinder with over 247.900 miles on it and runs like a champ.what oil do you guys recommend for my pathfinder..????

    thanks,,,

ohh by the way check out my profile i have my pathfider on there if you dont believe me

  • my 98 exploere xlt timing chain broke off at 322,500 miles.

  • Ford 200K in miles = $200K in repair bills LOL!

  • LOL my 98 has 343,000 and doesnt even tick, never mind repair bills its called CHANGE YOUR OIL AND GREASE YOUR SUSPENSION

Repairs? I replaced 2 upper 2 lower balljoints with Moog's ONCE, 2 inner and 2 outer tie rods with Moog's ONCE, and other than that, brakes and oil changes. You could make a pinto last 150k if you took care of it right.

  • I dont beileve you and you have a Explorer please!

  • yes

  • im at 155,000 miles in my explorer, and i havent had a single repair bill

  • My xlt is at about 260 bought it brand new in 98.. never had a prob. a very great car. and has excellent acceleration.. mne is a v6

  • I have a ford explorer xlt 1998, and I never change the motor is the same... 400k and still be good

  • No way what engine you got the sohc v6 engine? because the sohc engine only last 120-150 miles before the head gasket and valve go!

  • my sohc is at 195k =]

  • HAHAHAHA yeah ok!

try about 343K and mine still has power and doesnt tick. Try changing your oil every 5K and using synthetic and actually taking care of it. You'd be suprised how much money you save on needless parts, or worse, labour if you cant handle fixing stuff yourself. I feel sorry for people who take their car to a garage. They bend your right over the counter and give you a greasy torque wrench up your ass right into your spinal cord causing you to die instantly.

  • Why is your Explorer saying that you are low on your battery? It that normal because my friend got that same problem on his 1999 Explorer. Check your vacuum line!

  • thought the same thing but sometime when it cold and i put into drive or reverse i hear this winding for like 20 seconds before it tries to stall out let me know if you figure that problem out

  • My alternator died at 222K. I just replaced, and it is MUCH higher now. Run's 1/2 way up that meter.

  • Transmission problem?

  • Just an update for you all ... Just crossed 210K, and I did have to rebuild my rear end, but hey, 210K baby!!! KEEP ON ROLLIN!!!!!

  • Why you dont buy a Dodge Durango? How much money all together you had put in your Explorer already?

  • dodge and reliable dont go together

  • also the Durango's and Dakota's are heavy and thirsty. The 0-60 time of a Durango V8 is 13 seconds....way worse than a comparable Explorer.

  • The volt gauge on my 98 explorer stays at the lower part aswell , with a 1000 cca battery dunno why , but its does ....

  • THANK YOU! It is retarded, because I have recenetly replaced mine with a yellow top Optima battery as well!

  • My alternator died at 222K. I just replaced, and it is MUCH higher now. Run's 1/2 way up that meter.

  • I hate that on this explorer the battery gauges is always in the low side! Is very enoying!

  • nice! built ford tough for a reason.. our 96 5.0 has 162,xxx and is still runnin strong as the day we bought it... original engine and trans.

  • I wasn't as lucky ... I did have a trans rebuild at 123,000, and now at 210,000 I just had a rear end rebuild. But hey, what can you expect for 210K! Keep on rolling!

  • bro i think ur battery is low

it looks like to me ur alternator might be bad

    idk lol

  • God Bless American!

Mine is 167,000 miles and still kicking the roads ass! No problems. Just replaced the battery for the first time after 10 years and it probrably didn't even need to be replaced. Just had to get a new high performance battery. No doubt a Very Reliable Car "."

  • Very nice! Keep on rollin!

  • mine have 400k miles and motor is same... ;)

    transmicion is new ^^

  • Are you serious? 400K on your Ford? What kind?

  • Right after that it exploded

  • LOL! I do joke an call my truck the Ford Exploder sometime ... But at 210K, you have to expect occasional troubles! :)

  • Dude that is a piece of shit Explorer I bet you it got million of trouble right now?

  • Honestly.... Not really ... I have had a trans rebuild at 123K, and now at 210K, I just had a rear end rebuild, but I consider that pretty reasonable for how hard I drive my truck!

KEEP ON ROLLIN! BUILT FORD TOUGH!

  • It got to 200K but now the problem are being. Number one your battery is low I can see that on the video. I think your tranmission is not shiffting that good. Do it still on the run with Problem free??

  • ya his blinker fluid is probably low too

  • LOL! That's some funny stuff!
