I've just bought again the HTC Flyer and this time it is now Honeycomb-powered. much more improved OS. still unable to swipe left or click "X" to close an open app/game/website (via the multitasking launcher) or to resize a widget. still better than the old 2.3.5. Cheers!
Hi again. i'd like to ask how do i exactly wipe-off or kill an app in Honeycomb 3.2? (via the one-button multitasking launcher on the bottom of the screen). are there any hidden finger swiping functionality or ability (just like iOS5) with the Flyer? is the browser now with tab browsing?
PLEASE HELP!!! Plan to buy an iPad 2 this weekend. normally an Android user. had to ask a silly question: Would you say the multitasking on Android Honeycomb 3.2 - HTC Flyer tablet is as good as the Pad 2 w/ iOS5 with that new multigesture finger swiping?. (I'm choosing between an iPad2 and the Honeycomb-enabled HTC Flyer Wifi) what is your advice/opinion on this one please.Thanks.
@lynxman76ph if you're choosing between those two, I would definitely recommend the ipad2. Ipad2 hardware is much more faster and the display is smoother than htc flyer. however, if you're looking for a better experience with android, how about you try the new asus transformer prime? it's a quad core processor tablet with android ICS 4.0. it's as smooth as ipad but without the laggy android os..
I have to say, you make the digitial pencil look like a capacitive stylus. It's not. It's a precision writing instrument. You should demo how well it does handwriting.
@evilsnakes1 My battery life has been good but I did not get to use the tablet much on 2.3 so my expectations may not have been properly set. All I know is that it gives me a least a day of usage taking notes and reading comics.
If HTC doesn't upgrade Android for the Flyer, that will be the last HTC product I ever buy. Only a year old and already left in the dust? C'mon! I'm hoping for ICS or even an official Honeycomb so that I can use the friggin' stylus with Sketchbook Mobile, which is an excellent drawing app. Using an iPad style nib pen with my n-trig stylus sitting idle feels insulting. The Flyer could be a wonderful biz/artist/designer mobile platform if only HTC would glance in the rear-view mirror, ya know?
I just watched the newest Linux Action Show and they said that Google released the code for Honeycomb but stressed that developers should ignore it in favor of Ice Cream Sandwich so perhaps you have a point and maybe HTC has decided to give up on Honeycomb and move to Ice Cream Sandwich. This actually makes more sense considering the size of this tablet. If Ice Cream Sandwich can custom sized apps so well then it does make a better choice on this size of tablet.
@FulciLives I would be surprised if it does not get an update. I can't say one way or another if it will definitely get the update, but i would assume that if there really is a possibility it is not coming it is because they decided to just move on to ICS development.
@madadam42 Yes the update would be free as with any android update on any android device. What you want to be sure about is IF the Flyer will ever get the update officially. As of now it doesn't look that way. Oh and yes it is 2.3 (2.3.3 to be exact).
I wanted to see the YouTube app

Hi,
I can't think of a custom rom flash i've ever done that doesn't result in battery issues.
How's the battery after this?
Cheers

Is this coming out officially or not? People seem to be saying it is NOT coming out. I don't want to buy this tablet if it isn't coming out.

but it was TOO hard for me... i really wished i knew more =(
i got the s-off and rooted but adb and fast booting just got me soo confused x__x

@nneverssay I had a hard time with it as well. I think if it had not been for my experience working with other ROMs and ADB.
