@reidharr35 Yeah I think it does have to be a head hit, that is where you are really intending to injure another player, not just cause discomfort or pain. Smid attacked avery for a clean hit he dropped his gloves at the same time as avery but was too slow and got nailed. There is no proof Avery said no to that fight, it looked like he said wait and was watching to see if we were gonna score with the play going up ice, makes sense to not nullify a goal by fighting early.

Avery attacked smid. if he wasn't a coward he would have let him drop the gloves and square off. and Avery was in the offensive zone when he hit fraser and NY was controlling behind the net so i guess if Avery though NY could score from behind their own net then it would make sense. There is no question that it was a dirty play.
Ex. you get a little shove from someone asking to fight. you turn away and attack = DIRTY

Did you like how Kovalchump got away with sucker punching Avery!?! Guess what, no action taken for that. For as much as Avery agitates he gets as many non calls on himself and thats a fact.
