You play the root note on the first beat, then play the higher strings on the second beat. So the accent is on the second beat, for the most part.
You stay on the E twice as long: A B E E.
Also there is a lot of variation how he plays it, like sometimes he strums the E on the first beat rather than second, then holds it. Sometimes the riff stops, sometimes they play the fill instead. Keep working on it man
