  • cruising to the beach on a warm summer evening right before the sunset that's what this song makes me think of

  • Her name is Erykah with Y as YES !! Great version of this classic. ♥

  • I wanted this to be something else

  • yeah phat phat bassline. a way better for my generation... but the original is so massive

  • Amazing!! im sorry but I like this, better than the original.

  • Six people don't like the sunshine...

  • its the remix!!!!!

  • I don't know why people get so pissy about covers. The original is the original, you can't fux with it, but much love to those that loved it enough to cover it. That equally includes the 9th Wonder remix. Stay wise, intelligent and love to all.

    South London stand up.....

  • The OG of this was so open...it left the opportunity for so many other arttists to come in and be able to add their spice to it for all these years! Nice.

  • O g

  • Reminds me of Groove Tube in Covent Garden, this was exactly the flavour...I miss them shoobs :( back in the day when we could afford to go into London...way back when most of you lot were in nappies :)

  • This just makes me smile. :)

  • I'm not feeling the bounciness with this version. I think it should stay smooth like the original. And it's sad because I love Erykah and Roy Ayers...

  • D'Angelo did his thing with this too.

  • I wish there was a LOVE button for this.

  • ♫ yep!

  • Loved it. As foreigns listeners, it´s great to understand more clearly the words, much better than the former recording. I´d just translate these lyrics to portuguese, to a swedish band, "A Bossa Elétrica". Named it "Sob a Luz do Sol". Would wish you, Roy Ayers´ fans, listen to this version (actually, I don´t know if it is already available online) and report me your impressions, by grouartes@gmail.com

    Cheers, guys!

  • Yeahyeah.. But you can't say 'the brother isn't going anywhere'.

  • yo this song is phat certified sequence2

  • Reminds me of my clubbin days at the Groove Tube in Covent Garden...lovely

  • Hah :) that beginning joke with "naw brotha Ima go to the sun at night" was funny

  • @vaseline02 I remember when the first Space Shuttle was launched, my uncle commented "It's amazing what they can do these days. It won't belong before they'll be landing on the sun."

"Don't be daft!" says I, " They can't land on the Sun, it's too hot."

"Well, they could go round the back..." he replied in all seriousness.

Not the sharpest tool in the box...

  • @brassmonkey001 lol at monkeys uncle.

  • it's O.K. Some things are best left to be un-touched. The only other version /cover that I think was better than the original was by Incognito

  • nice.....really nice

  • Roy keeps it fresh--remade his original version funkier. Erykah adds definite soul. Thanks for posting.

  • GOOD LAWD!!! This version is tighter than a watermelon going through a garden hose! Thanks for sharing!

  • I wish Erykah would stick to soul musiq... her new freaky ish kinda creeps me out... nonetheless, this here is right down my alley!

  • oh gott, I love this song

  • Roy & Erykah=Excellent callabo!!

  • hanpanai

  • Ahhh Yeah,,,, some more sunshine funk! Peace!

  • This is a cool song, but in no way compares to the original!

  • Roy Ayers 2nd Generation Vibes ...This is the Stuff ...Thank GOD ...

  • Right!

  • Not bad...but still sits in the shadow of the original.

  • GOOD STUFF !

  • this is phat. love that heavy bassline.

  • i like this one and the other version but what is the difference between the two?

    like...

    are they on different albums?

  • @jeseavery They were made in different decades. The first one was made when me and Erykah were 4 years old. He remade it 4 decades later because it's still relevant. Mary J Blige used it to create My Life.

  • Greatness
