  • Very nice, I just found out that this particular Black Five wasn't scrapped after all. Looks like I was wrong!

  • @SodorProductions The reason for 45305's survival is a very unlikely one - it was saved because it was the cleanest in A.E Draper's Yard (Alderman A.E Draper being the name of the scrapyard and the loco)!

    Cheers.

  • Ah, so that's the loco's name? I have a bad habit of calling it Frederick, as I've recently become co-producer of a Trainz series, where one engine is that same engine. And yeah, that does sound very unlikely.

    Thanks for the info :)

  • Great Video, 5 Stars! I rember seeing 45305 leave the work ready to haul the return leg of the tour and then I passes the loco at Nuneaton on a Pendolino!

  • Thanks!

  • That station seems to have speakers going off almost non stop!! do they ever take a break??

  • There was a reason for that, apart from the frequency of trains that day. Some enthusiasts were a bit too close to the platform edges and needed to be told to move back. Cheers ryskinner!

  • I'm amazed you haven't had 100's of GWR fans screaming "Oh no it's not!" - but I think it was.

    Thanks for posting

    Tom

  • Hmm, maybe I was wrong to make that opinion, but oh well. Thanks Tomlan2007!

  • Black 5. All-round best ever UK steam locomotive?

  • Quite arguably, unless anyone thinks different. Cheers!
