    Professionallll

    Jeahh:)))

  • Back then when singers perspired from singing, unlike today, where singers perspire because they don't have the voice and have to resort to dancing.

  • @loveydovey1ful

I totally agree...I just had a conversation with a friend the other day and I was saying how the irony with music is...its become VISUAL. It has more to do with what we can see versus what we can hear and enjoy.

  • que voz maravilhosa!

  • she painted it !!!

  • WOW !!

  • no woman, no woman makes my soul peaceful as ella... not everyone in this new trashy generation follows biebers every move... theres still some people with common sense and ears that work :D

  • a real treasure, thanks for posting such a legend which is Ella

  • This has always been one of my favorite tunes. It's not as easy to pull of as Ella makes it sound.

Who was the flautist for this gig?

    Damn smooth!

  • Oh, I should have waited for the end, Danny Turner. Sorry.

  • 4:17-4:38 WOW! Totally perfect pitch! WOW! AWESOME!

  • Angzity, I totally agree with you... Totally to tears!!! The Voice of God! :-)

  • wow, to be honest, this has moved me to tears (literally). One of the best performances i have ever seen. ever.

  • I know exactly how you feel. You just heard the voice of the living GOD.

  • After unfortunately being exposed to amy winehouse's version of this song I had to come and hear it interpreted properly.

  • Your comment prompted me to check out Amy Winehouse's Round Midnight. Hey, Amy is smoking! I like her version as much as Ella's.

  • I like amy but think she should stick to her own songs! She's off key for one thing, but also the arrangement is just...unacceptable! It robs the song of any feeling! Ella is impeccable and in my opinion is in a different universe of talent. Of course everyone is entitled to there own opinion, but have you heard amy's cover of Moody's Mood For Love. Now she does a great job of that!

  • You can not compear a Junky BITCH to a Real Musician/Singer like Ms Fitzgerald.

Ella is the Lady , the other Just a Tramp .

  • what about lady day she was a junky and she was great

  • edcerc you raise a very good point.

We are talking about the world of jazz. If we base talent on the degree on drug use...well...most jazz ledgens would not pass the test.

    I love Amy and Bille.

all I can say to anaaaaal is "welcome to the world of Jazz Baby"

where drug use often comes with the talent.

  • Gosh, I love ella fitzgerald. Night and Day, A Night in Tunisia, Round Midnight. Gosh I wish smooth jazz could make room for more 60s and post-bop jazz.

  • Carmen McRae's version is the BEST I've ever heard. I find Ella's delivery unbelieveable unless it's a happy, upbeat song.

  • Just Ella...

  • 1:43 is sick and is her signature

  • amazing.. ella will live forever!

  • "Thank you... back to work" Whatever Ella! Lol.

  • When I was in college in the early 80s, I had a friend at the campus radio station who gave me this album. The entire thing is fantastic. My rock n roll roommates hated me - it was my stereo. :-)

I forget what it is called, but Ella and Basie Live on Pablo. And the quality is outstanding too.

  • Could someone tell me who are all these amazing musicians?

  • Paul Smith, piano; Danny Turner, flute; Mickey Roker, drums; Keter Betts, bass

  • Never in my wildest imagination could Ella sing this brilliantly -in 1979.I normally don't even want to hear her after the 60's.This brilliant recording gives me cause to re-examine my peviously narrow views.

  • shes always so effortless! no, i think she has to be the greatest singer ever, just always perfect, never overdoes it, always perfect pitch, and no ego either!

  • Timeless....she is missed greatly

  • can't NOBODY touch her

  • ahe paved the way for jazmine

  • C'Mon... J. Sullivan is a beast. I'll give her that. But ELLA... The GREAT ELLA... C'Mon man... You gotta be a youngster to make such an ignorant comment. Check out her performance of 'How High the Moon' and tell me she 'can't hold a candle to Jaz'... WOW I'm really at a loss for words... RESEARCH. RESEARCH. RESEARCH!!!

  • arte

  • Ella was incredible live and this clip is sublime and takes me back to those wondrous 70's concerts...Bravo Ella!!!

  • Ella is the QUEEN. I shrink into a sigh at her watching her work this. She is a national treasure. Thanks for the clip because I am wanting to do this one myself and she gave me a few hundred new ideas.
