  • At 1:56 the musical synthesizer track makes me delightful and males you forget about the problems of society!!!!

  • o my god!!!

    i remember this add!//

    it is fantastic!

and yesterday i saw video from the USSR about Shop!//

i was a little girl, when it was on our TV!

  • I like how at 1:30 she gets to watch her self on TV she must have taped into the KGB surveillance system that has been placed on her because she it trying to sell lamps.

In Russia TV watch you quite literally.

  • in soviet russia lamp switch YOU

In soviet russia suit wear YOU!

In soviet russia stereo listen to YOU!

  • So they didn't have a clapper, they had 2 xbox huge buttons to push???

  • I love how in the second commercial the second text line seems to be "stuck" sometimes when its moving. It's kinda like a "Fast Forward" skit.

  • and you only had to wait in line for 16 hours for these things and pay 2 years pay for them.

  • These musta been produced by SCTV.

  • The existence of these commercials are a bit paradoxical. Oh well. Better than nothing right?

  • 4:25

    Nice IPod...LOL!!!

  • интересно посмотреть, спасибо!

    матрешка балалайка бабушка

  • 2:03 :- A young Gerry Adams is teleported from Ireland, only to discover he's become a KGB agent.

  • This commercial just proves that regardless of a country's political system, synthesizer music conquered all in the 80's.

  • No kidding! That surprised me.

  • 1:00: It's a dimmer switch for hoboes!

  • I want one of those suits! actually i'd like to have them all, seriously.

  • Back in the 1970's and 80's we were told all Russina women looked like Stalin or Breznhev. Man were we duped those two women were foxes! Hot!

  • @bigkellyr Agree! Look at Maria Sharapova, Marina "Hot for Words" Orlova, and Anna Kournikova. ALL FOXES!

BTW, that guy at 2:25 looks like Russian Prez Dmitry Medvedev :P

  • @bigkellyr

I remember that one commercial that had a mock Soviet "fashion" show with an obese women walking down a catwalk: "SVIMMWEAR! ........VERDY NICE!"

    -Talk about propaganda.

  • WOW

  • I wonder how many people could afford this "luxury"? A dimmer, a polyester suit, a men's jacket, a cassette recorder. Santa Claus was on his way!?

  • No, everything was in a deficite at that time, from TV sets to sausages. To get it you should have stood in queues for MONTHS or have good communications with the Central Commitee

  • Aha! Thanks for responding.

  • Oooo floating jacket

  • the first song is on the 80's version of Metropolis but who is it?

  • It's Giorgio Moroder's, "Machines", seems to be very popular to be used in ads or tv shws, that song was used as wel as background music for an Argentinian TV News program in 1984/85

  • I love the music!

  • so this where Kraftwerk gets their ideas

  • It is a light switch that has 2 buttons one makes the reostat go up the other makes it go down increasing/dimming the lights.

  • Are these local commercials (Moscow) or just Russia in general?

  • Господи, какой идиотизм!!!)))

  • i want one of those suits lol

  • Hands down one of the coolest things I've ever seen on YouTube.

  • I don't get it: if you can only push the light switch in, how do you turn it off?! Do you have to press it and catch the very moment it goes completely dark?!

  • most excellent. post more if you have them

  • да, но у меня такой "регулятор тока" в комнате стоял и это была мега фишка в середине 90х :)), только они жужжали прилично, когда на понижение работали

  • сейчас это смотрится дико. "новое изделие!" жестко.
