I love this song, it shows how messed up kurts childhood was, but somehow it has a relieving feel to it. I take it as: yea, life sucks, its challenging, you get lonely, but in the end you get what you want if you try, and you end up with ultimately, death, or peace. Kurts life wasnt that bad, it got horrible once he began his relationship with Courtney though :( One of many artists that I would have liked to hear make more music.

Kurt's lyrics were fu***** awesome however you look at it. And they were also way more consistant than S.O.D so I don't know why anyone would compare Kurts lyrics with...whatever that dudes name is. Don't get me wrong S.O.D's. first album has the most amazing lyrics I have ever seen, but after that they became way less ambiguous and less poetic, and as far as I'm concerned they sold out and turned into dog shit, f*** them.

This song's texture expresses the happiness that a boy should feel when he went to Grandpa Joe's house (apparent in happy upbeat chords esp. the final cadence of the song) and how the happiness was confused by the incestual acts Grandpa Joe allegedly committed (apparent in the maddened vocal stylings).
