So I was on the Internet today and saw that in Sanskrit Maha means "Great" and isha means "Lord, Ruler". But this confuses me because I've heard a word close to that means Buffalo in Sanskrit. If anyone cares to explain this I'd love to learn about this awesome culture.
Eager to watch this stotra in bharatnatayam with best expressive way... still not able to find. Once in Dance India Dance a foreigner Nikitasha performed some portion of this stotram with most expressive way and energy, giving spiritual / divine feeling... There is so much scope to express this storam in best way. Once saw on youtube a lady performing Venkatasuprabhatam with great hold on expressions and lyrics giving justice to that.. Hope to find good artist giving justice to this stotram too.
Nice attempt, but could do much more innovations with those lyrics... there is so much scope to express lyrics of mahishasurmardini stotram... some portion attempted very gracefully... but surely most of the important expressions/lyrics missing which could make performance more spiritual/ appealing...
But she's not exactly depicting the diferent stories of Devi in her dance. She's keeping it very safe with aesthetic poses. Poses are very nice though.
This is true art to me.

I remember seeing this video 2-3 years ago but in the mean time it was taken off youtube. It's nice to see it again. The dancer is Sheena Chandradas.
Check out another video of hers:
