I lost someone very special to me....and I think of her when I hear this song. The things I did...or should have done. "Across the street, your smile broke upon my face like a wave...". I miss you so much!
@DickLodge68 She will have understood. Energy doesn't get lost. Strangely enough mirrored here, a girl that saved MY life when this came out, nowadays barely seems to remember me ... Well, LIFE:-/!
@jmedia1 Thanks for your kind words....she meant something to me and I lost her. Yes, life goes on. I love the time-traveler aspect here. Taylor was so very good at the obscure and wacky themes.
Nice to find a brother...especially on the other side of the globe! I bought this record years ago in a little shop and none of my friends believed me. Thanks for uploading because I love it!
@DickLodge68 Oh yes; same here! This album captured a lot of the drive, spirit and energy of the times back then. And who else except maybe Marc Bolan made such prominent references to the subculture wonderland of 'comic books';-)?! Great times!
@jmedia1 I'm a comic book moron really. It's either Superman or Batman....Marvel or DC. OOp they are both DC...okay Spiderman? I have no clue of Bolan,....thank God for Google. I love music. I listen to this and would love to put it up against any crap they play today!
Ha! I forgot how good this song really is. Some hate Roger's stuff...whatever. About 1:40 or the guitar solo starts only to be taken over by violin scratching....who ever does that? It's brilliant....the lyrics, the song, the composition....a small gem that is best unknown to the masses.
@DickLodge68 Yeah, in the truest sense of the word:-)! Always loved the rockin' edge Roger gave to Queen, his 15-minute drum solo an unforgettable experience for me from seeing Queen live over here in 1980. THIS album combined many - if not all - elements, I could have wished for back then...
@jmedia1 Bless you....not sure where "over here" is but it's obviously there. My very first true rock concert was Queen in late 1982. As it turns out it was the very last concert Queen did in the States It was the same set list as the Montreal "We will rock you" video. Roger on the timpani! Awesome! Loved it then...love it now! These guys kicked the crap out of the Beatles, Stones, Zep...whomever in my book. We miss you Freddie!
You really need to wonder if this was a song rejected for The Game.....it's a really good song! But maybe didn't make the cut? Good question for Brian!
@divoff14 Well, it's probably the most "pop" song from Fun in Space. I just love his voice....he was an essential part of Queen - be it vocals, songwriting, or go figure.... drums!
My favourite track from the album!

Great song! I bought this album when it was released. I played it to death. It brings back a floor of memories when life was innocent.

If this song predates Blondies' Denis Denis, I suspect Blondie sampled some of the drums here, who can give me some perspective here? THX!
