Also it is far from the worlds greatest gaming league. Then again that is only my opinion. Just like it's only your opinion that it's the best. However from what I have seen, the majority of actual hardcore gamers agree with me.

While I use to think the league was great, it has been going down hill over the years. This has happened to many gaming leagues. WCG won't be the last.

I posted a rather calm rational post, even going as far as to say that even though I felt the show was misguided and most of those on the show were far from being pro or even good, and those who were pro were pro at casual games that I still found it entertaining. Then again, most e-'sports' leagues follow the same route to failure, so it was to be expected. Why, it's amazing that the WCG lasted as long as it did. Quite a shame in the end, however. It's downhill from here.

Also, finger dexterity and rhythm from real guitar playing have everything to do with being able to own at GH.

andyes Dead or Alive 4, Gears of War, DDR, and Guitar Hero are more casual games. dead or alive, sure it may be fun to a big fanbase, but the difference between a pro and a casual gamer isnt far away from each other in that game. ddr and guitar hero pretty much caps the limit as to how good you can get at it. and gears of war is just another fail fps game aimed at casual gamers. its got too much stuff in the maps and is hard on the eyes. fps games these days dont ever seem tobe about aim anymore

the difference between some1 that's really good and some1 that's pro is HUGE.

Obviously you didn't play the game competitively so you don't know about that.

for example:

last year @ the GH WCG finals in my country, the Winner won because the #2 used starpower slightly to early

because each song has a limit to how many points you can get, there is a limit to how good you can get at the game, all the top players know the best spots to use star power, and then it just comes down to timing and thats it.

there is nothing that changes up the gameplays strategy at all which makes the game boring and not able to last as long as the greats (aka cs, sc, quake)

you can be "pro" at any game with a fanbase.... but that doesnt make the game itself a very competetive game.

cs will always be the best teamplay fps.

quake will always be the best 1v1 dm fps.

and starcraft will always be the best rts.

why? because games being made now aim at the casual gamer, and the games dont have the proper requirements to make a game competetive...... like cod doesnt exactly fit in the competetive fps scene because its a franchise game with too much shit in it

@vVvMrsViolence The problem being that SC has always been announced first in the roster since the beginning.

Now, there was another game in the past that also had always been announced in the first roster. One year it was not. It turns out the failures who run the tournament had banked on being allowed to use the sequel to said game before it was even released. This caused a shit load of trouble. Aka, they fail.

Also, an ellipse is done like... this. No need for spaces until the end.

In it's early days, it was wonderful. However, to the general hardcore community, the WCG is now laughable. Especially this year, as one of the games included in the roster is an online billiards game. Starcraft was not including in the opening roster, unlike all the years before it.

Also, yes. Dead or Alive is casual compared to other fighters, as is Soul Calibur, a game played in your run on the show. Gears of War is casual, DDR is slightly. And yes. Guitar Hero, Rockband, and DJ hero are considered casual by the hardcore crowd.

Face it. The 'gamers' in that show including yourself are far below actual pros. GG no re.

Also, Guitar Hero is casual. All rhythm games are considered casual with the sole exception of DDR, though that is only given an exception due to it's far more difficult gameplay, and it requires much more physical activity.

let me put it this way.... there could be an amazing quake player thats the top player for a year or so.... but then a new player could come up with a different gameplay style and uses different strategy, and his gameplay could overtake the top quake players style....

you will never see a new guitar player using a different style and strategy.... because all you can do is hit the notes and use star power at the same time all the other pros use theirs

All those idiots played were casual games. Few of them were actually pros, and even those who were actual pros were only pro at casual games like guitar hero.

If I recall correctly, there was one guy who played Starcraft and was semi-pro or something at it, and that was it.

Actual progamers would have schooled these idiots so bad. The show was fun to watch, but the premise behind it was flawed and idiotic. If they had actual pros, and good games... that'd rock.
