remember muscle weights a looooooooooot more than fat... this must have been rough for him. Most male Army/Marine recruits are between the age 17-22, from 5'8'' to 6'1'' around 170lbs. so when a massive guy comes through this is really tough
God bless the Marine Drill Instructors. Americans should be thankful for the dedication that these hardcore men in the smokey the bear hats give to train these young recruits. @McMuffin103 He runs every day he lifts weights every day and hes seriously fit. Hes always wanted to be a marine im pretty sure he didnt get that body(no homo) from being lazy and eating food. If he really wanted to he would join the marines but hes not cuz he gets like millions off wwe. If i had to pick any1 out of a bunch of people to graduate bootcamp id proably pick him to make it
@wiggleMYniblets The purpose of going through boot camp is to get you physically and mentally fit for combat. I doubt that he trains by dragging someone under barbed wire with Marine DIs yelling at him. It doesn't matter what he wanted to be, because if he really wanted to be a Marine he would have become one and not become a fake wrestler who pretends to hit people with fucking chairs. I would pick anyother recruit to graduate because they actually want to claim the title of Marine.
@McMuffin103 dude your lying. you would rather make millions then go into the marines. dont get me wrong im a die hard marine guy but any1 would pick millions of dollars over marines....the money the houses the cars the girls. he trains by lifting weights running miles daily and he has the maintality.
@wiggleMYniblets You have know idea what being a Marine would mean to me. I would give up anything to be a Marine for just one fucking day. Money is nothing to me. I don't care what everyone else would do. Cars, houses, girls, and money can't add up to anything even close to being able to call myself a United States Marine. What he does every morning to look like a hero to 10 year olds doesn't matter because what Marines do daily make them heros to me and the world whether accepted or not.
@wiggleMYniblets Who the hell are you to say I'm lying? I never got to be a Marine. It's been my dream to fight for this great nation. I would DIE for this country and it's ideals. I wouldn't trade my brief time with my recruiters for all the wealth of the fucking world! You can't tell me that I'm lying, when I know what I would do for what I believe in. If I had a choice between being the richest man on Earth and being a Marine, I would hands down choose Marine. Same for any other situation.
@jruch314 I have crohn's disease, and tried to hide it from the recruiters, but I fucked up on one of the pieces of paperwork which gave them reason to access my medical records revealing to them my condition. I couldn't find a doctor to say that I didn't have it, so I am now disqualified.
@McMuffin103 damn dude that sucks i am sorry, i was going to be a marine but had a kid instead an i turned it down because of my child, i wanted to be there for them so i told my recruiter who then relayed it to his boss who than decided to blacklist me from ever joining the military again.....
@McMuffin103 lol well while your having your condition ill be in bootcamp in about 2 months so goodbye sir ill have pride in protecting my country while your sitting at home wishing to be what i am. goodbye
@wiggleMYniblets And while your in boot camp, I'll be saying goodbye to one of my best friends and brother who is being deployed to actually fight. I can say this, I know a DI, and know what you await in boot camp thanks to him. You better hope you don't crack under pressure mr. douche because your going to get torn apart by REAL men. I hope you make it, because then I'll find you and directly insult your dumb ass and you can't touch me. Don't try and drown yourself in the toilet.
@McMuffin103 aye well "when you find me" ill be awaiting at quantico. Plus ill learn how to fight cuz marines learn mma and learn how to disarm people with weapons and with all the discipline ill have from being in bootcamp i really wont care if you unsult me.SMDH
@wiggleMYniblets It doesn't matter if you will learn how to fight at all, because you can't touch me after enlistment or else you'll face a court marshall and possible discharge. You better hope to god you don't turn out to be the next Gomer Pyle. Instead of wishing you luck on you trip to my dreams, I hope you have the worst time of your life there and end up dreading your term of service which you can't back out of. Have fun douchebag, its not as easy as Cena had it in the video.
zzjones92 PT prepares them for boot, thats what i said in my first comment....go back and read it I also said it was harder than boot because in PT your IT'd for 2 hours straight where as in boot you can only be IT'd for 2 mins straight so fuck you I never said boot camp was a joke, never claimed it was easy only thing i said was MY PTs were harder cause my recruiters didnt bullshit us, they tried to help us in a stronger more mental way
@wiggleMYniblets i never said YOU did, i quoted other people along in my post.....reading and common sense goes a long way sometimes.....try those two together sometime? have a good day
john cena is a bitch, i have room to talk cause i used to PT with pooles every wednesday and we would get non stopped drilled for 2 hours straight and i did this every week....and my PTs were tougher than boot camp cause they were preparing us for boot camp so they had to be more rough so boot camp wouldnt be anything compared to PT....
Let me ask you something bro...are you a Marine yet? If you are then good on you, but if not then shut the fuck up. This guy did 4 hours of something you may not have even done and just for the sole aspect of knowing what we as Marines go through on daily basis. USMC Boot camp is not meant to train you for power or strength, it's designed to train you for endurance and stamina. He's obviously a big dude. Next time you calling somebody a bitch...look in the mirror.
One last thing.... if you've NEVER been to boot camp, how do you have the audacity to compare it to "PT with POOlies"?? Clearly, somebody needs a wake up call and if you ever do Marine Corps Boot Camp, your Kill hats are gonna light you the fuck up.
@Disciple5ive@donjob wow did i hit a nerve or what....you guys really love john cena eh? do you get hard ons every time you watch him wrestle other half naked guys too?? TAKE A CHILL PILL
I'd expect something like that from some dude without at least half a brain to come up with half the sense to spew something fairly intelligent as a comeback. With that being said, it's clear that you haven't gone to boot camp and it's a good thing too. Boot camp makes Marines not pussies who hide behind their computers big and tough on the net. And one last thing.. Chill pill dude?? What are you 12?? -_-
@jruch314 dude are you serious? someone who's been to boot, and been shot at and killed bitches in afghanistan and seen buddies die ang get maimed. stfu
@jruch314 dude, marine corps poolie functions are meant to prepare the poolie with the MINIMUMS of the Marine Corps PT, two hours a week, or 2 hours a month is nothing compared to whats at boot camp, PT with poolies is almost a sad joke.
@TheJimmyT1000 Too bad he still sucks cock at acting so "The Marine" turned out to be a shitty flop. Cena should stick to shooting juice into is balls and grabbing men, he's much better at that.
i left the island in november and if they watered it down at all id hate to see wat it used to be like that being said mothers of america has def taken some tools from the drill instructors but not enough to make it a joke bc is not a laughing matter my friend if u rnt a Marine then i challenge u to go find out for yourself
@usmcbigdave I don't get why other people commenting on this video don't understand that. That's all he was doing. People seem to think he was trying to compare it to WWE. Semper Fi!!!
@400hpmustang Diiiiiiccckkkk!! He said himself that he only did four hours and that he can imagine that it's much more difficult to complete the boot camp.
@400hpmustang see here u are mocking him,he at least tried 4hrs of it and here u are on you tube watching him try his ass off and u called him a joke when u good sir are in fact the joke. he said he was spent look at him hes huge hes not built for endurance hes all strength and it takes more than a big bicep to be the baddest motherfucking in the world it takes 13 weeks in usmc training and he admits that
The only thing about tough guys from Hollywood attempting real bootcamp training is that they never really get it, partly because of the camera crew, tighter schedule, not the exact same treatment, and you'll probably never hear of a stir between Hollywood and whoever. This video only displays the not so easy parts the celebrity has to go through while he's there, along with real men in uniform to help out with the conformation anyway they can. Just being fed more from the media outlet.
I have to respect this. I went through Army boot (in '83) and thought it was hell. (was 6' 1" and weighed 145 came out 175 all in muscle BTW) Marine Boot has a greater physical requirement than Army boot due to the greater combat role their branch performs. Much respect to anyone who earns the right to wear the uniform of any branch of the US military. More, if it is the uniform of a Marine.
I think this just proves how physically fit you have to be to be in the Marines. The SAS have the hardest training but the marines have the longest and most physical. My brother in law trained with both and he said marines are definately the fittest.
Marines do proper pull ups, all the way extended, I don't know if it is most, but a pretty significant percent of people cannot do 1 good pullup, I wish the army did pullups instead of pushups though for APFT.
@knifecollector93 most drill instructors actually have that kinda voice, when your screaming day in and day out for however many months your voice actually can get permanently screwed up
@knifecollector93 ya, one of the drill instructors in my company sounded like that, we all could barely restrain ourselves everytime he started talking because his voice was hilarious and just some of the things he said would have made us crack up under any other circumstances
@Vadion12 yeah when someone yells a lot, (assuming they get proper vocal rest and not actually blowing their chords out) their vocal cords thicken to compensate for the amount of pressure on them. Sort of like building calluses.
This was my home from Aug 21 - Nov 17 2000 I was 130 lbs when I stepped on the Island and walked away 170, I find it awesome that John Cena was tired after only a few hours of being there lol
@TWFsbeast How tall were you, or are you. My ship date is currently in December but I'm trying to get it moved closer, or at least want it moved up :/ . I'm only 130 right now too, but im 5'9" which is right at the min. My question is were you a double rat, and will they help me gain while I'm in?
@Superottowa i am 5'11, they should put you on double rat, and some things you can do to put on weight before you go and while there is eat proteins, and starches, you will have rice everyday you will find at least a 100 ways to eat it lol um after you have been there a lil bit you get more time to eat so just eat as much as you can when your at the chow hall, then when you get out of boot, im sure there are other Marines who can help you add mass.
@TWFsbeast Yeah right now I'm focussing on proteins and everything else i can stuff my face in. Ive gained a good 12 pounds since I swore in back in April. Thanks for the speedy response and thank you for your service. I cant wait to get to those yellow foot prints.
@Superottowa np man good luck best advise i can give give you is, do what your told, speak only when spoken to, do everything quick fast and in a hurry, give the D.I.'s a 100%and you will do just fine, you may not think it now but you will get nervous when you get on the Island but stay confident and youll do just fine
Went in at 236. On the Initial PFT I could not do a pull up, Only could do 32 sits up in two minutes and ran 1.5 miles at 29:35 minutes. My Final PFT I did 15 pull ups, 120 sit ups in 2 minutes and ran 3.0 miles in 20:19. I weighted in at 176. My Mom did not reconize me when I got off the plane. Needless to say I spent a lot of my first check on a new wardrobe. Semper Fi
@Sperky91 yea im going to boot camp in 4 months do and i cant do alot of sit ups or run 3 miles will i be okay or should be able to do this stuff before i go ?
@marcus502414 If you can't pass the initial strength test (IST) you will be put in the Physical Conditioning Platoon (PCP), and it fucking sucks (I know). Work your ass off to get in shape now. The IST is the MINIMUM necessary to begin training. The better shape you're in when you start, the easier and more pleasant boot will be for you. If I could do it all over again, I would have waited to ship to boot camp until I could have run at least a 3rd class PFT (the full thing).
@Sperky91 they used to have a program for future enlistees to PT with their recruiter station to be better prepared for the demands of the recruit training but some one died during it and they arent allowed to do station pt anymore. at least around my area
@koffeekage they still have it in our area. Shame it is a good program. Though one death is tragic in its own right, taking down a program that helps our future warriors get into shape prior to boot camp is also tragic for those whom want to serve. The rights of the few outweigh the rights of the many 1% vs. the 99% that need and still most likely want it. Much less than 1% and yet you get my drift........ Semper Fi
@NastyBrid Back in 1987 they did not have the requirement. Smart of them to actually have upgraded to workout programs and minimal prior to getting to boot camp. I was sent to a rehab platoon, then screwed my knee and spent a extra three weeks in bootcamp. All worth it. So that is the how.
@Sperky91 nice job brother..I am a Marine also..semper fi..i went in at 198 got out 166....144 sittups up from 80 and my 3 mile was 15;58 up from 22..got jon Marine Semper fi again..I was in 22 years and retired 2 years ago as a Sergeant Major..stay strong and you will do well
@xmike8259x Nah, they build you into a fuckin machine. You can be the scrawniest mother fucker on your block and still be a Marine. That's the whole point of training.
@gat0rbball Years ago, Riddick Bowe the heavy weight champion of the world tried MCRD Parris Island and failed. I dont believe Cena was to big, I think it was to much for him. If his life depended on it would he still be to big. No he is a star and brand and he used his option to " tap out."
@groundpounder35 Well I think that is a given. But you must admit that size is a factor in the environment the Marines put you in. If you are as big as Cena you lose ANY form of stamina. I mean this is a lowly civillian talking from a simply biological standpoint. He is not at ALL what the human form should be. He would not have the endurance of a man who passes boot camp at average level. I mean I realize heart and mindset are crucial elements, but there is more than that too.
@gat0rbball Sorry sir, I must respectfully disagree. This was my home for 3 months and 1 day in '85. I saw different types of people go through this its a process. However if he was totally immersed in the program he would have lost 10 to 25 lbs. I saw people on that island who were over weight, and when their parents/loved ones saw them at their graduation they walked right pass them. "No lie." Its a beautiful thing to change like that.
@groundpounder35 Oh no no. I totally AGREE with you. He would have HAD to lose weight. His actual body style wouldn't work. My best friend is a Marine and went in at 175 solid muscle and came out at 155 solid muscle lol. There are different types of muscle. Muscle from use and muscle from iron(or maybe the juice lol). Muscle from use wins EVERY time because it is part mental and part physical. Muscle from use involves pain tolerance. Muscle from weights is just strength building.
@gat0rbball Thats funny because I went there at 155 and left the same weight. I dont know if thats good or bad. But its the truth. I still you I remember my first 25 mile hump. I lost like 8 pounds with all of the gear but made it. I ate bananas & power bars. Fully geared down that is one hell of an obstacle to overcome. We did it in either 6 or 7 hours and a few minutes. It was in '95 so I cant remember. The second hump we did same distance was my last one, that shit HURT. But I completed it.
@groundpounder35 Biologically speaking that would make sense at 155. Extreme cardio and endurance would press your body, and you would lose body fat much quicker. Lower % body fat would burn calories much quicker in any workout(especially cardiovascular/endurance which burns away fat and muscle). I might add that my friend is 5'5 and was actually at one point 220lbs and the star fullback for out high school football team(and yes it was muscle not fat lol). Smaller bodies lose fat and muscle quic
@gat0rbball DAMN 220 -155 in a few weeks. Damn. Thats why I am so against people who go under the knife to lose weight claiming that its the only way. I know for a fact that it is not and it is probably more rewarding psychologically that you did it the old fashioned way, with hard work.
@groundpounder35 No he did 220-175 in about a year. Then he dropped from there. He was the strongest guy on the football team minus 1 linemen, and it really showed for him in the speed department. He is now back up to about 190-200 and he has some kind of ammo can record.
They were just running his ass ragged while they had him. The actual 13 week isn't all dragging a dummy under wire. I was at OCS this summer which has harder PT than boot camp and it was manageable.
Damn, Gunny Davis trained Cena! thats crazy, he never told me that, im deployed right now with him!! small world!

@jruch314 I have crohn's disease, and tried to hide it from the recruiters, but I fucked up on one of the pieces of paperwork which gave them reason to access my medical records revealing to them my condition. I couldn't find a doctor to say that I didn't have it, so I am now disqualified.
McMuffin103 1 month ago
@McMuffin103 damn dude that sucks i am sorry, i was going to be a marine but had a kid instead an i turned it down because of my child, i wanted to be there for them so i told my recruiter who then relayed it to his boss who than decided to blacklist me from ever joining the military again.....
jruch314 1 month ago
@McMuffin103 lol well while your having your condition ill be in bootcamp in about 2 months so goodbye sir ill have pride in protecting my country while your sitting at home wishing to be what i am. goodbye
wiggleMYniblets 1 month ago
@wiggleMYniblets And while your in boot camp, I'll be saying goodbye to one of my best friends and brother who is being deployed to actually fight. I can say this, I know a DI, and know what you await in boot camp thanks to him. You better hope you don't crack under pressure mr. douche because your going to get torn apart by REAL men. I hope you make it, because then I'll find you and directly insult your dumb ass and you can't touch me. Don't try and drown yourself in the toilet.
McMuffin103 1 month ago
@McMuffin103 aye well "when you find me" ill be awaiting at quantico. Plus ill learn how to fight cuz marines learn mma and learn how to disarm people with weapons and with all the discipline ill have from being in bootcamp i really wont care if you unsult me.SMDH
wiggleMYniblets 1 month ago
@wiggleMYniblets It doesn't matter if you will learn how to fight at all, because you can't touch me after enlistment or else you'll face a court marshall and possible discharge. You better hope to god you don't turn out to be the next Gomer Pyle. Instead of wishing you luck on you trip to my dreams, I hope you have the worst time of your life there and end up dreading your term of service which you can't back out of. Have fun douchebag, its not as easy as Cena had it in the video.

jruch314 1 month ago
@jruch314

@jruch314
One last thing.... if you've NEVER been to boot camp, how do you have the audacity to compare it to "PT with POOlies"?? Clearly, somebody needs a wake up call and if you ever do Marine Corps Boot Camp, your Kill hats are gonna light you the fuck up.

@jruch314 dude, marine corps poolie functions are meant to prepare the poolie with the MINIMUMS of the Marine Corps PT, two hours a week, or 2 hours a month is nothing compared to whats at boot camp, PT with poolies is almost a sad joke.

Superottowa 5 months ago
@Superottowa i am 5'11, they should put you on double rat, and some things you can do to put on weight before you go and while there is eat proteins, and starches, you will have rice everyday you will find at least a 100 ways to eat it lol um after you have been there a lil bit you get more time to eat so just eat as much as you can when your at the chow hall, then when you get out of boot, im sure there are other Marines who can help you add mass.
TWFsbeast 5 months ago
@TWFsbeast Yeah right now I'm focussing on proteins and everything else i can stuff my face in. Ive gained a good 12 pounds since I swore in back in April. Thanks for the speedy response and thank you for your service. I cant wait to get to those yellow foot prints.

marcus502414 5 months ago
@marcus502414 If you can't pass the initial strength test (IST) you will be put in the Physical Conditioning Platoon (PCP), and it fucking sucks (I know). Work your ass off to get in shape now. The IST is the MINIMUM necessary to begin training. The better shape you're in when you start, the easier and more pleasant boot will be for you. If I could do it all over again, I would have waited to ship to boot camp until I could have run at least a 3rd class PFT (the full thing).
mvolesky1 5 months ago
@Sperky91 they used to have a program for future enlistees to PT with their recruiter station to be better prepared for the demands of the recruit training but some one died during it and they arent allowed to do station pt anymore. at least around my area
koffeekage 4 months ago
@koffeekage they still have it in our area. Shame it is a good program. Though one death is tragic in its own right, taking down a program that helps our future warriors get into shape prior to boot camp is also tragic for those whom want to serve. The rights of the few outweigh the rights of the many 1% vs. the 99% that need and still most likely want it. Much less than 1% and yet you get my drift........ Semper Fi
Sperky91 4 months ago
@Sperky91 idk how? once you get to meps you have to be able to run 1.5 miles in 13:30. Or you dont go to bootcamp.
NastyBrid 4 months ago
@NastyBrid Back in 1987 they did not have the requirement. Smart of them to actually have upgraded to workout programs and minimal prior to getting to boot camp. I was sent to a rehab platoon, then screwed my knee and spent a extra three weeks in bootcamp. All worth it. So that is the how.

My best friend was at PI when Cena visited and apperently he couldn't do their obstacle course cause he was too damn big.
gat0rbball 6 months ago
@gat0rbball Years ago, Riddick Bowe the heavy weight champion of the world tried MCRD Parris Island and failed. I dont believe Cena was to big, I think it was to much for him. If his life depended on it would he still be to big. No he is a star and brand and he used his option to " tap out."
groundpounder35 6 months ago
@groundpounder35 Well I think that is a given. But you must admit that size is a factor in the environment the Marines put you in. If you are as big as Cena you lose ANY form of stamina. I mean this is a lowly civillian talking from a simply biological standpoint. He is not at ALL what the human form should be. He would not have the endurance of a man who passes boot camp at average level. I mean I realize heart and mindset are crucial elements, but there is more than that too.
gat0rbball 6 months ago
@gat0rbball Sorry sir, I must respectfully disagree. This was my home for 3 months and 1 day in '85. I saw different types of people go through this its a process. However if he was totally immersed in the program he would have lost 10 to 25 lbs. I saw people on that island who were over weight, and when their parents/loved ones saw them at their graduation they walked right pass them. "No lie." Its a beautiful thing to change like that.
groundpounder35 6 months ago 18
@groundpounder35 Oh no no. I totally AGREE with you. He would have HAD to lose weight. His actual body style wouldn't work. My best friend is a Marine and went in at 175 solid muscle and came out at 155 solid muscle lol. There are different types of muscle. Muscle from use and muscle from iron(or maybe the juice lol). Muscle from use wins EVERY time because it is part mental and part physical. Muscle from use involves pain tolerance. Muscle from weights is just strength building.
gat0rbball 6 months ago
@gat0rbball Thats funny because I went there at 155 and left the same weight. I dont know if thats good or bad. But its the truth. I still you I remember my first 25 mile hump. I lost like 8 pounds with all of the gear but made it. I ate bananas & power bars. Fully geared down that is one hell of an obstacle to overcome. We did it in either 6 or 7 hours and a few minutes. It was in '95 so I cant remember. The second hump we did same distance was my last one, that shit HURT. But I completed it.
groundpounder35 6 months ago
@groundpounder35 Biologically speaking that would make sense at 155. Extreme cardio and endurance would press your body, and you would lose body fat much quicker. Lower % body fat would burn calories much quicker in any workout(especially cardiovascular/endurance which burns away fat and muscle). I might add that my friend is 5'5 and was actually at one point 220lbs and the star fullback for out high school football team(and yes it was muscle not fat lol). Smaller bodies lose fat and muscle quic
gat0rbball 6 months ago
@gat0rbball DAMN 220 -155 in a few weeks. Damn. Thats why I am so against people who go under the knife to lose weight claiming that its the only way. I know for a fact that it is not and it is probably more rewarding psychologically that you did it the old fashioned way, with hard work.
groundpounder35 6 months ago
@groundpounder35 No he did 220-175 in about a year. Then he dropped from there. He was the strongest guy on the football team minus 1 linemen, and it really showed for him in the speed department. He is now back up to about 190-200 and he has some kind of ammo can record.
