@judyview LMAO! - me too, back in the day! (I was 17 my first show - he was around 30!) .... still hot after all these years! - SEGER that is . . . :)
Probably my two favorite Seger songs back to back. Thanks for posting. Still got my mom's old Seger albums. Her granddaughters dance to them now. Gotta raise'em right.
my dad took me to that tour for my 13th birthday. i have seen hundreds of shows in my life, and that still ranks as untouchable. the baddest dude on the planet. my first rock n roll hero.
Good god almighty! They were surely in top form here. Bob's vocals stay strong right on through. Amazing! btw-who's the guy putting the hurt on that gold top? Great guitar work.
Should have done this as a duet with Tina Turner. Can you just imagine what electricity there would be on stage. Thanks for posting. Bob Segar, roc n Roll rules.
Saw Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band in Fresno back in about 77-78. Great concert, bad ass rock & roller. Still love the old tunes. Great memories. Rock on.
@safeway56 Its not thieving bob seger took this song , and did better then Frankie Miller ... Its only thieving when your version sucks more then the original example: Van Halen doing Roy Orbison's pretty woman , now thats thieving... Bruce Springsteen doing Jerry Lee Lewis's Pink Cadillac isn't thieving (its just as good maybe slightly better) :)
@safeway56 It's a two way street. A lot of people might not have heard of Frankie Miller had it not been for Seger's version, and it is a great version, at least he didn't butcher it.
Great vid, thanks. What made the original Ramblin' Gamblin' Man was the thunderous drum intro by Pep Perrine. He actually grafted on giant ductwork elbows to his elevated drumkit, so they pointed at the audience like a pair of cannons. That was Detroit in the late 1960s, friends.
RAMBLIN' GAMBLIN' MAN sure sounds different from the original 1969 studio version(Seger's band was then The Bob Seger System) and the live 1975 version from LIVE BULLET.
Traveled all the way to NYC to see Bob in sold out Madison Square Garden. It was my birthday, and what a birthday. The man is a tornado. Every single soul in there was really shaking, body and soul. Seger is the ultimate Rock star. Grab his latest album if you can. Easily levels his earlier Night Moves, Sttanger in Town and Against the Wind. Long Live Bob!!! and tour again. Thrill of a life time.
By any chance, were you talking about September 12 and 13,1980? I just saw a backstage pass for those dates on Ebay. How awesome of Seger to perform at an NYC venue that is dominated by Billy Joel and some other New York natives.
Now that you mention it,Seger did do a show at Madison Square Garden last year. Seger is my father's all-time favorite rocker(well, one of them) and I seriously considered buying us tickets for the show despite the 1,000+ mile distance from our Nokomis,Florida home. I would have bought us plane tickets as well. No sacrifice is too great for a man like my father.

Vintage Bob Seger. I saw him recently and I was disappointed, big time. Not long after he performed the national anthem at the World Series in Detroit, which I felt bad for him because it was awful. Let's remember him for this type of greatness, which was definitely something.

Seger should be locked up for theft. This song is a blatant rip off of Frankie Miller's "Ain't got no money". Have a listen for yourself if you don't believe me
Hello Sailingcondor, are you looking for chicks standing on corners with a mattress on their back? I came back from New Orleans once and told my Dad that I saw hookers, and he said how you know did they have mattresses on their backs. LOL
Saw Bob twice on this past tour. Rumor has it that a Live CD/DVD is to be released this fall from the March 2007 shows at Cobo & Joe Louis Arena in his hometown of Detroit... I love Seger... But don't hold your breath! I hope that he releases a professional DVD maybe more than anyone...
