Gran Torino reminds me of a combination of these two movies "Walking Tall", and "Shiloh". "Walking Tall" is a younger veteran that returns home from the Special Forces and looks at his hometown and how much has changed in about 10 years but he has a much different attitude. Shiloh is about a dog, boy, and a hunter the protagonist's attitude is just like Gran Torino doesn't except gifts, thank you's, or friend's. Although my rating is still pending because I haven't seen it but look forward to it
