Ex Natio should have been a non-survivable attack, the idea being "you didn't save up your specials, now little Fei and Elly's gears wipe the floor with your ass"
Actually ido013 the Xenosaga series is supposed to be the "beggining" of the series. Xenosaga originaly was meant to be a 6 episode game series. Xenosaga was the fifth in the series and was also meant to recieve a remake of a sort.
Xenosaga does has a lot of common things with Xenosaga and even a story arc that is before Xenogears. Abel is Fei from Xenogears, his Weltal - Id mech exists within the game as do numerous things that exist later in Xenogears (story wise).
@UrielTheJudge Not exactly but theoretically yes. Abel is the first existence before Fei (then Kim, Lacan). Then again, this series is very different from Xenogears so they're not really the same lol.
This is basically Deus from Xenogears but in the Xenosaga universe... I guess the Xenosaga technology was a little better at taking care of him because this fight was a breeze compared to Deus.
This is true: when I played against Omega S. I lose Dinah and Reuben kinda early leaving me with with Momo and Zebulan and yet I still won that battle.
yes xenosaga and xenogears are related. because monolith was bought from another company they had to change the name other wise it would have violated copy rights etc. xenosaga is suppose to tell what happened before, but to not violate rights they say its not but really it is haha.
no its not. not in any way./ there not the same because i wood kno because im a gaming FREAK and there not the same characters (if they r please feel free to tell me because i dont pay that much attention wen i look it up)
@kiggamix2 Xenogears is NOT the 5th episode of the Xenosaga series. If you have finished Xenogears, you should come to realize that the stories between the 2 games do not intertwine in any way. Both games are different with their story and plot lines. They just share the same themes due to legal copyright since Gears is still owned by Square and Saga is to Namco. Get it?
You can always hope the creators keep their word. They said they were possibly going to continue the xeno series in some form on the ps3 but we shall see if they do or not. I think xenosaga didn't do that well because of lack of knowledge it really just wasn't well known enough I guess because this game was great I didn't like ep.2 that much because of the battle system but ep.1+3 were great
And there you are wrong Xenosaga and Xenogears by admission since it was made by the same development team. The author of the story clearly stated that in his six part novel xenogears would be the 5th part of the novel.
Go do some research before talking to me about this subject friend. I know what I am talking about. Xenogears and Xenosaga ARE the same story. Because two companies but the same development team worked on it. There is a small legal issue called COPYRIGHT INFRINGMENT. Chapters 4,5,6 are all included in the last game. Official story.
ok the truth is the pepole that made xenogeas left and made monolithsoft and started xenosaga.xenosaga is suposed to be a prequal to xenogears takeing place before xenogears.Yes there were originaly suposed to be 6 xenosagas but they only made three becuas sales of the game were to low so not enugh mony led to the game seiries being cut in half.
No, it's not Fei. That boy is called Abel. It's just one of those "spiritual successor" things that Xenosaga has in common with Xenogears. The two are not connected storywise. So, that's not the same Fei/Abel from Xenogears.
No, since Xenogears and Xenosaga are two different series in two different universes. Xenosaga contains many nods and references to Gears like Abel, Nephilim, Omega Universitas and ID, etc..... But, they aren't related storywise. So, while there's multiple things in the game that look the same as stuff from Gears, they're not the same thing/person.
I was actually disappointed with the Dmitri battle. He was really easy. Took me 10 minutes tops, and that super good Omega attack didn't even halve my character's HP.
Omega took me even less time. It was a cinch too.
The first battle with Yuriev was difficult, so I thought that the E.S. battle would be impossible. I almost pissed my pants of how hard it'd be. The battle took 3 minutes tops.
This is such a beautiful game, I was so psyched during this point. Yuriev is such an interesting villian, much more so than Wilhelm. Godsibb is a masterpiece as well.
I know many of you will disagree: Xenosaga is the only good cultural (non-technological) thing made by the Japanese. I hate Final Fantasy with a passion.
It's a feat of technology as well, though I guess you mean the story and character aspect. Either way, I have to disagree with you greatly. Even though I am also not an FF fanboy, I have found many things from Japan that I have found enriching in my personal life. Japanese music and food, for example. I don't think it's fair to simply say that this game was the only cultural acheivement of Japan. (But it is a great one, indeed.)
Sorry. What I meant to say is that Xenosaga is a freak occurrence in MODERN Japanese culture. It seems like the only RPG that shows that the developers are well-versed in non-Japanese culture (Hebrew, Greek, etc).
I love how the designs of mini Weltall and Vierge to this guy's sides are practically ripped out of Xenogears. Good game, but a little too much fanservice.
yeah this guy i think was supposed to be the final boss of this game. then if they made 4 um the final boss of this game, then xenogears and after that not sure.
According to those two idiots at x-play, there are just six of us. Xenosaga is not a game or a story that can be 'judged by a court of ignoble commoners.' adam sessler and morgan webb are more like intellectual untouchables.
Ah, the best boss battle in the whole game along with the fight with E.S. Levi in the last part. Try taking a Prodigium and an Ex Natio one after another, normally the whole team will be obliterated if there isn't any protection against Beam attacks.
I love the whole Xeno series but I wish Namco would have just bought the rights to Xenogears and worked on all six games. I think it would have been easier for the creators and we could have truly started at the beginning with Abel...
But since they did it this way I wished they didn't stop at episode III. There was so much information to get across in order to complete the story and they crammed a lot of info in this one. Making it sort of difficult to follow along...
My fight was short with Metempsychos when I made my E.S. stong. I had Jin, Jr. and Kos-Mos E.S. in formation. I attacked first and used my Anima to stop his special attack. My fight time was 02:57.
It would have been nice, but I must wonder why you didn't get to fight ES Judah, Simeon, or Wilhelm's mech Joshua in Xenosaga III. They found time to put in Omega ID and Erde Kaiser Sigma, why not the final 3 Xenosaga mechs?
I think they kind of did what Final Fantasy 12 did. In that game, you don't fight all the judges, because that's what EVERYONE expected. Fighting some but not all of the mechs left a mystery of "just how strong are they?"
I knew it wasn't. That's why I called it "Wilhelm's mech." And in my view, Zarathustra and Joshua are very separate entities. Why couldn't you fight Joshua, Judah, and Simeon just before Zarathustra's chamber? It might be Kevin's last attempt to stop the party from interfering with Wilhelm's plans.
On an odd note, Omega Metempsychosis isn't an ES, but it uses Anima Awakening--shouldn't it have been Zohar Awakening?
True, sorry about that. And yes, I've often wondered why it does use Anima Awakening aswell. And perhaps they didn't let you fight those ES's before Zarathustra because they were either too lazy to put in those fights, or they thought it would be stupid to put so many boss battles together in a row.
Why not lots of boss battles in a row? It can become a real challenge, and it worked for a movie: Star Wars Episode III. That film was like boss fight after boss fight after boss fight--and it paid off very well.
Yep, this game is "almost finished" in my view. Almost. Too bad Namco didn't see just how good this series is to support it further.
I wouldn't mind fighting lots of bosses. But others I think would get frustrated by it. I think (from what I've heard) Namco stopped making Xenosaga because after the first game some people stopped working on it, and after the second even more stopped working on it. Those that left probably did because they thought 6 games with one story would be too hard to accomplish.
not this form! the previous form looked a little bit like gear-barah.....sorry about my refering to the original name of xenogear.....oh well...btw i think xenogears was a better game than this in most aspects other than graphics and....."crazy" crispin freeman voicing a crazy dude.
This is quite easily the coolest boss battle in Xenosaga III. It kinda made the rest of the boss battles a little weaker by comparison, although the game was still spectacular as a whole. But, why the Japanese voices? Yuriev sounds so much more threatening and evil in English, methinks, but thats just my opinion.
And now we know the secret origin of Deus. I hear this was originally intended to be the final boss of Episode II, but they didn't get to finish it up to that point. It's still a final boss in its own right.
If this had been the final fight in Xenosaga Ep. II, it would have been an epic end, much more satisfying than a fight that you couldn't lose no matter what.
this music gives me goosebumps man.... i just finished playing the whole series episode 1 through 3 on my ps2 2 hours ago
