Actually once more it was the network (They hated the "extreme" and told the WWE to tone it down a few weeks into the product) and more or less the originals (RVD nice going getting caught with weed a month into your WWE/ECW title reigns). Then Angle leaving killed any form of credibility the show had left.

Huh? WWECW went pg the second half of 2008 like Raw/Smackdown. What i was talking about was it was forced to suck... pretty much on day one (the zombies debut, big show dominance, Cena/Edge being there). ECWWE stood no chance from day one. Going PG didn't matter because by time that happened the only original left was Dreamer. Fatt Hardy, Morrison and Miz (the top guys of the second half of 2008) worked fine in "PG" as the hardcore aspect had already died 2 years ago.

Your telling me that a Promotion that had on its books, all at the same time, the likes of Super Crazy, Jerry Lynn, Lance Storm, Yoshihiro Tajiri, Masato Tanaka, Guido Maritato, Taz, Nova AND Rob Van Dam, was made up of poor standard wrestling?

I always thought the standard of wrestling in the original ECW was and still IS superior to todays alternative. It wasn't all garbage wrestling, centred around the Sandman, Raven, New Jack, Sabu, Funk and Douglas. ECWs mid-card was unbeatable at times. Mind you, for every wrestler in ECW who couldn't actually wrestle, WWE to this day has just as many. Examples include Khali, Big Show, Undertaker, Batista.

For pure wrestling, the Super Crazy/Tajiri feud is 1999 was awesome. As was Lynn/RVD

They cant, simple as. Batista for one, is a return to the 3 move bodybuilding type that Vince was Sooooooo fond of during the mid-90s, ie. Big Titan, Brakkus, Giant Gonzales et al. He is carried by his smaller, more agile opponents (eg. Rey Mysterio, Eddie G, Orton,) Watch it and prepare to notice!!!

Big Show until recently wasnt able to work at all due to his body being knackered from obesity. Granted he lost a tonnes ofweight, but hes still carried by every opponent.

Taker on the other hand USED to be able to work a great match without the need to be carried by his more agile opponents, or shortcuts such as weapons or crowd brawling. However, age and body wear has started to take its toll on him, and he can now only work sparingly on TV shows and PPVs, and is subtly having to be arried through most matches. Obviously he goes full-pelt once or twice a year at major PPVs such as the Rumble or WM, but he cant repeat this at the TV shows.

Now compare this to Shawn Michaels (even though I dont like the guy), who is half-way to his pension, and can STILL wrestle to his full potential.

Guys like Kenta Kobashi and Keiji Muto are older than Taker and can still work the full schedule and produce the goods week in, week out.

Actually, in terms of actual wrestling ability, the mid-card matches from 98-00 were PHENOMENAL! Considering I forgot to mention the likes of Mikey Whipwreck, Kid Kash, Roadkill, EZ Money, Chris Hamrick and Psicosis, it just adds more weight to the point.

The best you'll get on the ECW Brand is about level with a pretty good, solid encounter from the ECW days. You just dont see those RVD/Lynn and Tajiri/Crazy/Guido tear-ups anymore.

Hayman and his booking made the original ECW great, he could of had anyone on the roster and somehow made them look strong. Shame he had no business sense.
