This thing looks really nice, I didnt even know these exist. I've had to run 20m RJ45 cables and its not very convinient :P

@Catriks I was doing the same thing for a while hah. I bought a pretty nice powerline kit though and it performs like a champ. Speed test over powerline give exact same speeds as just running a cable. (15 ping, 30 mb/s down and 2.5 mb/s up)

Sure you can use it in a apartment you have your own electricity line wich is not connected with other people electricity.
