There is a yearly wrestling convention of The Cauliflower Alley Club. Nick Bockwinkle is the president of CAC and if you join and attend the conventions you will get to meet and talk with all of the old stars that are still around.
This was the Paul Boesch territory in Houston. It was part of the NWA but when Harley Race missed an appearance Boesch became upset and became more affiliated with the AWA. Bockwinkel bought percentages of both Houston and San Antonio which was run by Joe Blanchard. There was a tie in with Bill Watts as you can see but he was never an official member of the NWA despite owning percentages of Georgia and Florida.
Thanks for the info. I updated the tags with Houston and Boesch. I left Mid-South in since the footage was broadcast on Mid-South television, possibly to promote a different appearance or program that Dusty was involved in.
The match is from Paul Boesch's Houston promotion (which Bickwinkel owned eight percent of). Boesch was booking his talent through Joe Blanchard's Southwest Championhip Wrestling at the time, not Mid-South.
Cool-AWA, NWA, Mid-South all represented in one match

Did Dusty ever wrestle Verne Gagne?

@UglyMannheim Probably. They were in the AWA together in the early '70s. If they ever did, it was probably at some smaller house show someplace.

NWA was hardcore before the word hardcore exist in wrestling. It was southern wrestling where ECW got all it's hard core ideas.
