At 0:36, Obama says "federal conscience laws will remain in place" - what a liar. We can't even get fair representation when he lies to our representatives.
I would like to point out a glaring smudge on this whole "reform" idea. The government already runs 2 healthcare options for its people - namely Medicare & Medicaid. They are for the elderly and the poor - they are also the 2 lowest paid. And trying to find a Dr to accept these, especially Medicaid is a nightmare, I know because my daughter is disabled and has Medicaid. I took medical billing courses and the paperwork for these programs are a nightmare - I say "No Thanks" for that option.
The fact that not all states are that way would seem to indicate that the government regulations are at the state level (not the federal), no? Therefore, the same people who are resisting the passage of healthcare reform (which undeniably aims to force further diversification) are also over-regulating the people who elected them.
Never a liar. Read the bill, instead of sensationalist news and the rhetoric of politicians who are only interested in re-election. Obama is intelligent enough to realize that a nation supported by lazy voters will collapse, and that by being honest, he is shifting the paradigm of government several degrees back to an even keel. Self-serving politicians are a symptom of a collapsing democracy. The easiest way to confront them is to go to the sources we have the freedom to confirm.
Looks like that congressman has just forfeited his right to a respectable reputation in the democracy except among those fools who don't value a civilized political process and are not shaken by the use of subterfuge. Those people do not believe in democracy and are only invited to the discussion as a gesture of good faith. They are not entitled to anything from the pooled resources of the public, because they have no interest in contributing to the greater good.
