  • i think pool is more fun, i find snooker takes more potting skill

  • foul

  • I think pool is a better pub game, because you can still get the balls in when you're pissed.

  • It's quite simple really. The table is a lot smaller and the pockets (and the balls) are a lot bigger. So this was child's play for Jimmy. I played pool in America against the local hot shots and thrashed them. Then I ran away before they battered me.

  • I heard Ronnie O sullivan interviewed after he was knocked out of the world 9 ball championships a few years ago and he said that the difficulty wasn't any different to snooker, It was just different things were hard. He said something along the lines of. Its easy to pot in 9 ball because the pockets are huge, but you have a much smaller table/bigger balls so the accuracy of your positional play has to be more precise when playing snooker you can be 2 inches overun and it makes little difference

  • how bout this: A: snooker requires incredibly precise shotMAKING/potting. pool requires more defense and position play. B: ive never seen a comment where a pool player tried to claim pool was harder than snooker. C: there is no such game as "pool." there is 8 ball, 9 ball, 7 ball, 10 ball, one pocket, rotation, kelly pool, 14.1 straight pool...

  • There is NO argument to be had. Look at the size of the pockets and the balls on these riddiculous American tables. Pool is a bar sport for novices. Snooker is a real sport.

  • y this this fuck head puttin the que ballne the railing every time

  • pub game, aim north and you'll pot one

  • I taught jimmy how to do this!

  • Foul shot~

  • Snooker players do reasonably well when transitioning to 9ball. Just look at White and Davis - immediately credible at the game. They won't win right away, but they won't embarrass themselves either.

Now take Reyes or any 9ball "legend" and put them on a snooker table... they'll embarrass themselves.

  • @bruteMax Reyes is not a 9-ball legend, but a legend in all pool games. Snooker players are so quick to point the finger and say, "LOOK! Our guys can do well at pool." Which pool game? Do you realize there are about 7 different games in professional pool competition? Only 2 of which (9-ball and 8-ball) snooker players are expected to be of any real competition. Efren is a legend because over the 40 years of his career hes been dominant in all of them, and at 56 years old he's still winning.

  • I play pool and that was the best shooting ever. I now have to learn the game of snooker. Just amazing

  • i physically tried to move that mans head out of the camera at 0:39 lol

  • Let's face it: it's easier to pot a ball on a pool table. Now, everyone who thinks that is is all pool is about (or even Snooker) simply hasn't got a clue. The comparisons are silly because what you need to able to do (better than your opponent, that is) is not the same thing. In Snooker, a player is not expected to treat virtually every ball as pocketable (not even close - watch some telly matches, theoretically makable shots are turned down every game), nor play as intricately close position.

  • fuck me,

that fool got hustled by jimmy

  • thats impressive

  • classsss

  • Jimmy whites jus basically took the piss out of 9 ball pool hahaha!! it is much easier than snooker like i dont care what any1 says

  • everyone knows, pool is childsplay compared to snooker!

  • its still bloody good fun, and a great way to get free drinks

  • I agree that snooker is a much harder game than american pool, but why is it that no snooker player has ever managed to win any mens event in 9 ball - 10 ball - straight pool - and one pocket? I don't understand.

  • i'm guessing most snooker players probably dont want to alternate between playing games, might mess up your fluency playing on a smaller table. also there must be a different balance of shots that are practiced, pool needing more doubles and plants and not quite the intensive positional play of snooker.

  • I think Tony Drago did manage to win a big tournament, not sure how big, but good point anyway, and obviously Karen Corr and Alison Fisher dominated womens tourneys for years....

  • @gurdjieff1 tony won the masters in 2003 which is a major title....actually he is the only male snooker player to win a major pool title...maybe pool aint as easy as ye snooker nuts make it out to be....

  • @plmijnygcrdzwaquyijo Selby won it as well

  • @mikeyglennon whoever that is...I don't like snooker...so I dont know many of the players. I only know of Tony Drago because he is one of very few male snooker players to make a successful conversion to 9-ball!

  • @gurdjieff1 because pool and snooker have nothing in common when it comes to strategy......and straight pool and one pocket are extremely difficult games requiring careful planning and extreme concentration!

  • @plmijnygcrdzwaquyijo LOL you say it like pool is so much harder then snooker, take your careful planning and extreme concentration and times it by 100 and then you have snooker. You are probably so naive because you have never played snooker im guessing

  • (in the voice of Jim Davidson)

    GO ON JIMMY!

  • Quality - very difficult to pot off a cushion, Jimmy is the man!

  • really nice background music

  • lol somebody makes the same arhh noise every time he pots one

  • O'Sulivan has the personality of a spoilt child.

  • you would do to if you had to bring up your little sister while both parents in prison, try and become a pro snooker player under those circumstances and ill merit you.

  • O'sullivan was brought up in a nice area, and was already a pro when his mother spent 7 months in jail for tax evasion.

  • He just smacked that! :)

  • ronnie o sulivan is a loopy asshole shame hes the greatest natural talent ever

  • yeah he is an asshole, but i'm not sure hes the greatest natural talent ever, not when you concider that there were alot of great players around 30 years ago when they had to practice in between working 9 till 5 jobs and in the snooker halls. o'sullivan has probably never worked a day in his life and had his own snooker table since he was a kid.

  • btw his snooker career is his job so i dont know why your saying all this crap

because sponsors have taken over the world basicly and he probably practices 9 - 5 everyday

  • jimmy was a fantastic player in his prime, played the game with a flair and personality only since matched by ronnie!

  • WOW REALY GREAT SHOT

  • RONNIE - PERSONALITY?

GO CHECK OUT YOUR BUM HOLE

    daft tw@t

  • I Love people like you,It makes me feel good that you are so inadequate compared to me =) thanks for the wonderful message, and what a wonderful channel you have, full of wellwishers and fantastic comments ;-) thanks for taking the time to view my profile and call me a twat ,all the best cunt x x x

  • afew

rearrumando o bolao pra alinhar... n digo q eu faria = ou melhor, mas nao eh la grande coisa... ¬¬

  • Jimmy White is one of the greatest Player worldwide °!!!!

With his extrem spinballs and fast play and with his cool way to bring the cround laughin is unique!!!

And at the times where Beer drinking were allowed Jimmy was the one and only who make this in a way i never forget :-)

JIMMY WHITE ONE OF THE BEST SNOOKER PLAYER ARROUND THE WORLD

  • What a player; brilliant in his prime. What's Jimmy's world ranking these days?

  • unfortunately not that good anymore, he has to go through qualification just to get into tournaments. It's a shame to see such a massive personality in snooker, at his prime when snooker was at it's most popuar, just fade away from the limelight

  • your a loser mate

  • was that at Nuneaton Rileys

  • This isn't that hard when all the shots are lined up.

  • well that night at rilesy was just pure awsome :) bc i was the first player to play him unfortunatly i lost lol tho but it was a the best match i had ever

  • its one thing making big breaks in practice but playin the top players in tournaments totally diffrent prospect there are lots of players making century breaks for fun but they will never make it in the pro game u simply cant make any mistakes

  • totally agree! they need to make sure that they win cuz a missed ball is the end at this level... unfortunately

  • I Like you Jimmy

  • jus wanna say im a club level player who gets regular 60/70 breaks in snooker i entered a 9 ball tornament last week and got destroyed off a player who dont play snooker show respect guys or have a go yourselves instead of spouting crap

  • not enuff - u need quality safety play as well

  • That's an important point too, that a lot of people miss.

At that level, you're lucky to get one or two chances at the most to win the frame, and you can't mess up even in the slightest against guys like that.

  • i agree im an ok snooker player my highest brake is 110,but get the odd 70/80 now and again, but wen i play pool ive lost to people that havent got a clue

  • wuts the song playing in the background

  • Smack That by Akon

  • show-off!! but still... very impressive!

  • he's coming to letterkenny later this month, can't wait to play him. Hope I get the chance

  • not even hard

  • ronny o sullaven? That would return 0 results you fucking inboceill, please learn to spell.

  • As for you.

  • lol do you mean imbecile? The... ironie of it all lol

  • lol

  • LOL! Sorry Mr. Clever man forgot you could spell. Oh wait I think you meant irony, OH THE IRONY OF YOU!

  • wtf think for a second. I was being ironic look at what i put and notice the "...".

    come on think man.

  • Oh and its a cue ball as well as the other stuff everyone else said ;0)

  • a true legend

  • to be fair lads..snooker really is the high end of all the table sports..as much as 9 and 8 ball players are to be respected.

  • Thank you for having the opinion that snooker is the high end sport without being a jerk about it. I can't stand the way so many people look down their noses at 8 and 9 ball players and hold snooker up like it's the only billiard sport worth anything. I appreciate your willingness to recognize the ability of 8 and 9 ball players while still having the belief that snooker is the high end table sport.

  • Pool & Snooker = two different disciplines. Seriously. All of this arguing which is more difficult blah blah blah? Grow up. There are those that can play both great but Reyes is not a snooker champion nor is White a 9ball/whatever champion. The arguments that one makes the other childs play shows just how little you know about both games. Both games played at the top level require very different skills and strategy. I respect both games a ton and I'm glad to see them both played well. Be happy.

  • @jarhat HA WELL DONE SIR...

  • if u can play snooker/billard well, pool is childs play to you.

  • With all respect to those pool players out there, this is very true.

  • very true

  • thats like having ball in hand he didnt even have to worrie about anything just grabing the cue ball and lineing up the shot perfect (by grabing the cue ball)

  • And he earned money and a big and respected life. What really matters is what you are, not what you want to be.

  • your right, I made a terrible comment. You can do whatever you like with your life

  • Still got more money than you tosser

  • this man's a legend

  • jimmys my hero fucking briliant!!!

  • Jimmy White would have been the best player ever if it wasn't for Steve Davis. Darn shame...

  • Proves snooker players whipe the table with pool players any day!!

  • thats all jimmy can do now exibitions!!

  • he has got very strong self confidence

  • The coolest player in snooker.

  • NICE, but sort the sound out

  • ive seen him do this in exhibitions.

i can pot the black in the yellow pocket.he he

  • you are wrong balimoon as he has already done so. It is much easier to go from snooker to pool than pool to snooker. Infact NONE of the pool players would compete at pro snooker level. You mustn't realise how hard snooker is.

  • Snooker may be harder than pool, and I thought for a long time that snooker players should be able to win pool tournaments. There is only one fact that we often overlook, and that is that the professional pool players can handle the dimensions of the smaller table better. They will play cushion-first doubles and plants more easily than a snooker player would, because somewhere in the back of their head they think back to snooker and how hard it is to play a shot on a snookertable.

  • Osiris and DLP are right, pool players who don't play a lot of snooker have NO chance at snooker, even against an amateur club player. That said pro snooker players won't always beat a pro pool player (even UK 8 ball which is the most similar table to snooker, US 9 ball tables are STUPID) as the game has many nuances and tactics that a snooker player would NEVER play, such as defensive safety through pocket covering (albeit gay). Just watch Mark Selby though, the guy's world class at both.

  • Balimoons actually right...the odds of a pro snooker player beating a pro pool player are a lot higher than the odds of a pro pool player beating a pro snooker player. Look at the mosconi cup and there have also been exhibition matches involving jhonny archer and ronnie o sullivan. I m not trying to say snooke players would be better than a pro pool player but they can pick up pool a lot faster than a pool player can pick up snooker.

  • I meant the odds of a pro snooker player beating a pro pool player at pool are a lot higher than the odds of a pro pool player beating a pro snooker player at snooker.

  • Definitely right, take the best 9 ball player in the world and he'd have absolutely no chance of beating anyone in the snooker world top 32 at snooker.

  • Go to 9ballpool . co . uk and then click on "interviews". Then click on "Daryl Peach" and read his answer to question number 7.

  • steve davis when he was past it beat reyes in the 2000 world championship of pool and souquet as well. when reyes enters the snooker world championship and beats o sullivan or a higgins or hendry then it will be an achievement. playing a game for a couple hundred and not on competition tables meand nothing.

  • @soapbox999 Tony Drago actually did that:)

  • @soapbox999 Oh yes, forgot about Alison Fischer, also did that:)

  • a snooker player of jimmy's kaliber is going to clear up a pool table one armed & blindfolded

  • thats funny, looks like the rileys in maidstone, kent where they refurbished it and he came down for autographs and a lucky hat winner got to play against him.

  • quality stuff from jimmy. mans a legend!

  • I've seen him in an exhibition match, he plays even better than in competition, coz hes so relaxed. Made 3 centuries in a row and did the most ubelievable exhibition shots and he tripped the ref up lol. All while shitfaced.

Amazing to see right in front of you.

  • Omg!! Thats Riley's in coatbridge!!!

I'm the wee guy leaning on the table next to it!!

Omg thanks for posting i'm so glad someone put this on!!

    Awesome!

  • Its rileys in Oxford Road, Reading

  • He would fuck anyone ova in pool u dumb cunts..

  • Thats Cheating.

    He didn't chalk his Nib!

  • jimmy jimmy ohhhhhhh yea

  • what rileys is that? london?

  • Rileys in Reading, exhibition

  • thats gangsta...not only kicking ass but doin it in style. very nice

  • I agree that it's cheating, he did that against me in an exhibition!

A certainty to clear like that, try it yourself!:P

  • That's cheating.

  • u obviuosly dont realise how good jimmy is !! this guy doesnt need to cheat !! if he is potting off the cushion , he is doing it for a reason ........entertainment !!!

  • depends what u mean, its not unfair play but it is against standard regulation

  • smack that, all on the floor, smack that, give me some more xD nice vid

  • Cmon Jimmy!

  • leave it out jimmy - quality

  • Good Show

  • Quite nice. I'm a great fan of the Whirlwind. I liked the song that is playing, what's it's name?

  • Ok. It's "Smack that" from Eminem.

  • thats class, glad he's found a new hobby lol

  • that was superb from the whirlwind, were was that done?

  • it was done at Rileys in Reading, UK, back in November 2006

  • THIS IS A INTERESTING VDO .

  • This would be far more impressive if he put the whiteball against the nearest cushion. He just placed it wherever... not hard.

  • pretty pointless and quite easy if you ask me. those pockets are absoultely huge to a decent snooker player.

  • I agree the pockets are big Matt, still thought it would be good to watch on youtube. As he is a pro snooker player he shouldn't miss a pot anyway. Cheers. Alex

  • Thats quite impressive.

  • thanks for this upload m8 . Good luck jim on your new life , you been the best , you are the best and you'll be the best for me.
