good job, just 1 tip, you have to mute better each notes, to make a really good cover,.. you can do this with your fingers( control the time of execution of each note) or with your palm, like a guitar..
@Nireves33 dude i'm not even good enough for an OLP ghe, I bought a second hand Warwick and never regretted it. The sound is always wickalicious, and it sounds better imo than any fender I've ever heard or seen. especially when paired with a nice Eden amp.
@leogold75 this guys version is better the warwick really blends in well with the music and eccentuates the style hes executing here verywell dun jabbahd carefull with that thumb strumming the low be keep it pressed in the back of the neck and it'll also help you press harder on the string other than that your great man!
BUT if i could give one peice of advice, it would be to watch your thumb wrapping around the B string. When you keep it posted on the back of the neck like you do for a good part of the video, it just makes things so much easier for you in the long run
Great performance...What kind of amplifier did you use for this video?...What kind of effects did you use on your Line 6 Pod to get this sound?...Nice job!!!
Great playing. I love the Bass POD XT. I bought that for recording bass, but it now has become my effects driver for my guitar setup live. I just bypass all the amp/cab stuff and use the effects.
Well I must say I love the sound of your Warwick. However I think you didn't get everything right. You hardly played any dead notes that are in the song (although I might have just overheard some) and you played most of the variations of the verse either wrongly or in the wrong order. Listen to the song again. It's still a very good attempt though.
And? You know you're just paying for the name half the time. Its the same materials, perhaps gathered and manufactured in an outsourced company which makes them cheaper, so not to piss original Warwick players off they named it Rockbass.
orrr they are basically the same shape, and made in the same place, but warwicks are made of much higher quality wood and have better finishes and have much better pickups - so sound much better
i agree with both of you. you cna get a mighty fine rock bass for cheap, but i also agree with tommy when i say that the warwicks are really a whole level up. but both are good bass's
That bass is a Corvette Proline anyway, they're nice basses - I had a white maple six string some years ago (serial no. 000014!) and it was a lovely player. Had to sell it to pay off a bank loan in 1999. :(
It's not Stuart Zender on this track! It's Andrew Levy from the Brand New Heavies (read the liner notes). Zender was fantastic on those records, though. Definitely an under-rated player.
Is there any tabs for this song? =)

What settings did you have on your bass and amp?
I'm trying to nail this exact tone with my corvette standard.
Thanks, keep it up!

Tom Lewis, why would that matter?
You can pick up a Rockbass for about £250 if you know where. You don't need to break the bank to afford a damn nice bass...
NastyNotion 4 years ago
rockbass is to warwick, what squier is to fender or epiphone is to gibson, not the same thing at all.... warwicks start at around 700 quid
