This music actually seems to add a sense of urgency to the battle. Unlike annoying beeping that just makes you want to finish the battle so you don't have to listen to it, this makes you want to finish the battle so you're fucking safe. Like just imagine you're in a tough battle, last Pokemon is low on health, you check your bag and you have no restoration items, and this music is playing. Pretty awesome, right?

Most of the new ones are great! You just need to burn that nostalgia filter you have on. Besides, Generation 1 had the most mistakes. The following Generations fixed most of those mistakes and added new featues. And the Dark-types and Steel-types made things more interesting.

This is actually more annoying than the beeps in game b/c for example: you'll be fighting Team Plasma, listening to their super intense battle theme, and the first pokemon in your party gets low health and the Plasma Battle theme ends, with this in its place. It gets really annoying after hearing it dozens of times =(... It should only play when the LAST pokemon in your party is critically low on hp. Just saying.
