  • It'll be an improvement over the xbr9 but it should be fully back lit. Anybody who spends $4500 dollars on this tv is wasting their money.

  • Amazon has them for $2899 each.

But you better be quick because when they are gone, they are gone..

Amazon is not looking to restock for US shipment because of a court case that Sony is currently in.

  • This TV is great but it is very expensive. The last time I saw the price on a 46" model it was at least $4000. That is double the price of a samsung LED tv.

  • should i get this tv or is in not good and what would u recommend??

  • edge leds = bullshit ( so far anyway )

  • this guy reminds me off the chiken man from toy story 2

  • Imagine this TV with local dimming, 600hz and made at 40" too, I would wet my pants...hehe! ^___^

  • Sony puts their best video processors into the xbr series thats why only the xbrs look better than samsungs. As i can see from this video it will be the first time you can get a top of the line xbr (not entry level xbr) this thin.

  • What do u mean?

  • What do I mean? What is the question?

  • contrast ratio has nothing to do with it .. i have seen samsung 8000 seried led and xbr9 side to side and the difference in the picture is only that sony's picture looks more realistic in color than samsung 8 series led tv.. and you are talking about 100,000:1 contrast ration in sony xbr9 and 3,000,000:1 in samsung 8000 series .. so believe me .. SONY is little expensive but they know what they are doing .. and samsung led was expensive too when first came out ..

  • I would like to see this in person, MSRP on website is nearly 5K. WOW !! that's a lot for a 46" TV. Neat wireless box setup, I can see in some installations where it would be a plus. I had one similar to this with a KURO set, Lightning surge took it out and it cost hundreds to replace just the box and I had it connected to the most expensive Monster surge protector that money could buy lightning went right thru it as well. Now I have everything hooked up to APC battery Backups. Price is SKY HIGH

  • samsung (46) 8500 led tv has 7million to 1 contras ratio.this one has 1 million to 1 come on sony catch up!!!!!

  • Sometime, it's a number game. The number provided by manufacturers do not mean everything. It's better to see the TV yourself and decide which one is better to your eyes.

  • yes i love sony i want them to rule the hdtv world.but why can't they make tv's that out do samsung.the contras raito doesn't make any sense deeper blacks are what sale a tv.check out hd shootout on youtube it's very good on testing hdtv's

  • they measure contrast ratios differently.

  • Dynamic contrast ratio's are outrageous numbers. They are measured differently from manufacturers so that means comparing these numbers are questionable. However, the huge ill-informed mass consumer market believe that "the higher the number, the better."

People should know that marketing gimmicks are played very often to entice consumers.

Samsung started the whole "50k:1+" contrast ratio's.

  • IN REAL LIFE (ANSI measured professionally), CR's on LCD's should never exceed more than the 10 thousands, let alone in the millions! Real testing (ANSI) on these sets are actually around the 2000:1-5000:1 CR.

  • Beautiful Television. Very price, but I'm sure it'll come down a few hundred.

  • awesome
