@MrTacos147 So when they transport it the blades don't free spin and burn out the bearings and alike. If the blades are spinning w/o the engine on, stress is present without the generators pumping electricity to power the oil pumps and such and it can ruin an engine.
@MrTacos147 Allows a restricted air intake to simulate higher altitudes and flight levels. Essential to work out power ratings and engine stability. There's also a bunch of sensors in there to monitor induction noise, as well as a number of other things which I forget about.

@GreatWhite85 Sorry, I think you meant the larger sphere on the test bed. Just keeps debris and noise to a minimum.

@GreatWhite85 It straightens and smooths the intake air for the engine so test conditions are more consistent despite varying wind conditions.
