Had Chara not showed up in Game 3, the Bruins probably would have not gotten out of the First Round. @deathjoker666 Habs is for "Les Habitants", French word that means "inhabitant" but used to also mean "farmer". Montreal had two teams: The Maroons and Les Canadiens (one English, one French) and when one owner bought both he folded the Maroons and merged the teams. English Canadians used to call themselves just "English" as they kept the term Canadian for poor, uneducated, French Canadians (often farmers.) Many players of their new (only MTL team) being French, they nicknamed them the Habs.
