yes it is run the pipe. Good video though, While I run the pipe I extend my hands down to the ankles so that he can't bend his leg to defend and also so when I go to cover I have control of the leg also. Anytime I take a single leg I keep the ankle and raise it while I cover. This not only keeps his from putting his heel into the ground to push away, but also it it keep hiw weight towards his back while you have preasure on his chest. Other than that it is exactly how I run it.
@Jpeters2031 at my judo gym im able to execute this takedown at 90 percent of the time but when it comes to big guys im having a hard time to keep them down afterwoods. they just plop on the floor with their bottom
and are able to post their right hands on the floor, turn sideways and stand right back up..
do you maybe have the same problem sometimes?:P^^or do you know what i could do about it?
@doeiffeo - when you take the person down it sounds like you may need to a) maintain control of the oponent's hips and b) then work to control the near wrist/arm. Sometimes this is best accomplish by moving immediately to sidemount or in that direction. Be mindful that if you negate their hips during the takedown(i.e. keep their hips parallel to the ground on the takedown) it will give you enough time to control their near arm when they hit the ground.
nice body language it helps to understand the moves better.

Isn't it called running the pipe? That's what my coach called it. Have very little idea what a pike is as well. Gotta go look that up.
Good vid btw. Basics well covered.
