  • learn to tune in pal

  • Beautiful guitar but out of tune. Also it's petrucci not fuckin petrooshy

  • 3:03 just so horrible so listen :D

  • Just bought this guitar 2 weeks ago. Very well made. You have to get it set up professionally if it sat for a while because of the floating tremolo and thinner neck. Everyone should watch the YouTube video of the Music Man factory; it will make you all believers.

  • @TomOzzy123 is it true that you can easily knock the pick up selector when its in the neck position when you're alternate picking on the higher strings?

  • @BOOLsheet Ha, I saw your question about this in another video. =]

  • @VexylMusic ideally i'd like to try one out, but none of the stores near me carry one

  • @BOOLsheet I had to drive a little far away just to try one myself. Guitar Center would be your best bet.

  • Jeff sounds like Sean Bean

  • ugly guitar IMO.

  • You'd think they'd stop filming when the guitar is so obviously out of tune. ...

  • i wish it had a floyd

  • @suzuki15 it doesn't need one. That trem can do everything a floyd can do and it stays in tune better

  • @suzuki15 why? they are such a pain, rattly, slow and heavy-handed. this is pretty much the best trem you can get

  • Big fan Chappers, but frankly this video is offensive to music man

  • @meah941 because thats a preference. i personally hate satin necks and love gloss necks

  • the guitar is out of tune!!! Tune it!!

  • Does it have the same kind of string bending issues like say a Ibanez JEM (floating tremolo) has and a Les Paul (fixed bridge) does not? (Bend on one string, and the other strings are out of tune).

  • @massif20022000 It seems more stable to me, but I haven't spent enough time playing it to say for sure.

  • @massif20022000 It does have a floating trem so to speak. But MusicMan has a compensating nut that makes it harder for the guitar to go out of tune. It is not entirely locking the way a true floating trem is, but unless you are just going insane on the whammy bar, it'll stay in tune fine.

  • I have not seen anyone attempt to strum this guitar on acoustic mode yet. It makes me wonder if it can handle the main way an acoustic is used in real life. Do you know if it strums well?

  • anyone looking to buy this: DON'T! the 11th anniversary JPIX is waaay better and the same price!

  • Hey! I need some help! I'm thinking on buying and musicman.... Which is better, this JPX6 or the old Jp6 Mystic dream?? Can you help me Chappers?

    I would be glad!!

  • @EclipsfulGates in my opinion, the jpx6 is way better

  • @EclipsfulGates i'd buy the jp6.

  • I think the strings they are using are old, worn out, or the guitar just naturally sounds like shit in clean because its has the brushed worn bare metal sound that you get from old strings. Dunno but I hated the clean sound. Shit cheap made guitar.

  • @gamertillman ....go see your doctor!! Your hearing has gone!! I SAID GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR YOUR HEARING HAS GONE!!

  • @gamertillman shit cheap made guitar? are you fucking stupid? this thing is hand crafted in California and is one of the best guitars you can get, just because there are old strings on it make the whole guitar shit? that's like saying a car sucks because the tires are worn out..

  • @metallica5252 its really not one of the best guitars you can get. petrucci just plays the fuck out of it and makes it sound amazing

  • @rectalbomb I am well aware of that lol I actually prefer the Ibanez RGD2127z prestige over the JPXI when it comes to 7 string playability, comfort and sound.

  • @rectalbomb I exaggerated at the time..

  • @rectalbomb still a DAMN good guitar though.

  • @gamertillman and you can hear that on a camera mic? roflmao

  • why did you not use the mesa class 5?? it was right there ;)

  • And holy shit please tune that thing.

  • two inputs?? that kinda sucks.. my gibson has only one and a piezo bridge!

  • @Diehardslashfan Piezo wont sound at its best through an electric guitars amp, so 2 outputs is better for sound quality

  • @Diehardslashfan The difference is that your Gibson can't output in stereo. John Petrucci uses stereo out so he can send the piezo signal to an acoustic amp and the electric signal to his rack.

  • i think it is a guitar for john petrucci and not for all...

  • at least tune the guitar

  • haha 2:33 - 2:35 is Marty Friedman signature speed lick. He uses that lick all the time! It's a cool idea, but pretty much everything Marty does is genius. except for leaving megadeth :(

  • I also have one jp6 without piezzo and it really rocks for any type of music. I say that cause I already make remixes of guetta's song or wiz khalifa's song in my channel and it's not a guitar only for metal. It's a great versatil instrument.

  • That man is a GUITARNIVORE, i totally just thought of that.... or not

  • 3:04 so unprofessional

  • @MyLifeChanger why? I see nothing wrong

  • @williamindragunawan then use your ears because he's so out of tune

  • @MyLifeChanger WHAT?

  • @pennthebaker what?? Use your ears... they didn't even bother tuning the guitar properly

  • @MyLifeChanger So, he's fuckin amazing and even with it out of tune it's 1000 times better than anything you could produce, so go get yourself a tissue and have a little cry. FAG

  • @pennthebaker actually it's not a 1000 times better than what I could do... but whatever. this is a demo av the JPX6... for sale at World Guitars. They give him money to demo this guitar! It' his JOB! I'm saying it's out of tune, and it really ruins the impression of that guitar.

  • @MyLifeChanger Prove it hater! Post something that's only 500 times worse than this guy.

  • @pennthebaker You're calling me a hater? Man, take a look at your comments... You need to chill. I'm saying that it's a shame they didn't take the time to properly tune this wonderful guitar.

  • @MyLifeChanger Prove it then, hater!

  • @pennthebaker my god you're such a troll.. what do you want me to do? upload a wankfest video?

  • @MyLifeChanger Yes please. Chill out man im only messing about. I love it when people give nit picky opinions on great videos of talent but have nothing uploaded of their own to show that their opinion is either a) educated or b) relevant in any kinda way. Don't worry im not stabbing at you, just saying there's a lot of talent but a lot more hating which is usually done by the jealious ones.

  • @pennthebaker Ok you misunderstood me, I'm ONLY saying it was a bit lazy not bothering to tune the guitar properly before the demo. I'm not complaining on Chappers playing, he's absolutely brilliant! ;)

  • @MyLifeChanger He is awesome! Just ignore me, i'm bored and thought i'd argue with someone. There's three others on different vids going mental! I need to get out more.

  • @MyLifeChanger sorry if I sound silly, but why is 3:04 unprofessional?

  • @vaibhavnayel the guitar is so out of tune.. they should have tuned it before they started recording

  • does the tuning hold up well with the wammy?

  • lol didn't even bother to tune the guitar... lame

  • y a 5 way switch if theirs only 2 humbuckers??

  • @frankthetalkingshoe cause it splits the coils in the humbuckers, so you can get just the single coils, and the middle position is most likely the middle coils together

  • @joniiboy thats awsome il remeber that thx :D

  • why don't we see more of this dude anymore?

  • @MrDirectGraffiti Chappers works for Andertons now!!

  • i feel relaxed !

  • This is the john? PERAUHCASHASHAH-TCHİ.

  • а чё она строй то не держит ни фига?

  • so does it come with D'addario strings? haha

  • Could have been out of tune, either that or blending the piezo and electric sounds like arse.

  • @shredicon86 It seemed to go out of tune after one video cut. I know piezo/electric blend sounds good usually, I know Dave Martone blends some piezo into his normal tone so that he can have a slightly wider frequency range to get some sweet harmonics.

  • this is personally the best syntasized acoustic sound I have ever heard...

  • I can't tel that it was out of tune.. Does that mean I'm tone-deaf lol

  • may I ask what is your favorite guitar? taking into account playability and tone

  • good demo, but why would you demo it with the electra dyne with petrucci's amp sitting right behind it xD

  • Me again. But, wow. That guitar sounds so fuckin' amazing! I love the acoustic sound on it!

  • did you mention that the body is chambered?

  • That's an interesting feature with the whole amp switch on there.

  • it should have a sort of, purple oil finish

  • Cool acoustic sound.

  • i loved the grunt when chappers goes 'its so metalicay purpley shiney eye ey' hmmm

  • don't forget to mention the chambered body!

  • jajoosp- I owned and sold a beautiful Petruchi Model, about a year ago, for the same reason: the guitar played like butter, but even with the compensated nut, I always felt like The guitar was out of tune, or it just wouldn't intonate properly. I thought that maybe it was just MY ears, but after hearing this, and your comment, I don't feel so bad about letting that one go...

  • it's seems lonely at that place :( oh well nice review/demo.

  • Me through the whole video -> =-O

  • CHAPPERS we love chappers! i reckon im gonna get a standard jp6 with piezo not paying extra £1500 for it :)

  • That purple will go well with the skid marks on my thong.

  • I like the purple sparkles on the guitar it makes it look GORGEOUSsssss :D

  • can someone explain why does it have 2 input jacks? I sort of understand but not enough

  • @SmashBrains : One input goes into plain accoustic sounding amp..and other input is to go into other amp plugged with all the distortion type settings. JP's reasoning to this was: when playing live, it helps him to switch quickly between acoustic and distortion sounds using switch on top of the guitar and not having to go to pedal board all the time to achieve this and he can freely roam around on the stage...hope it explains..cheers!!

  • @rahulkaul1999 thanx alooooot man

    helps alot :D

  • @SmashBrains : no problem!!

  • @SmashBrains one is for the piezo and one is for the regular pickup magnets, its so you can use a acoustic amp with the piezo for a better clean sound, and also still have the ability to use a normal electric guitar amp

  • fuck,i would trade my girlfriend for this....

  • @tabotabojayar I would change my girlfriend for John Petrucci

  • you should've let John do the preview. (:

  • It goes further out of tune as the video progresses XD!

  • The acoustic sound sound really thin in comparison to the PRS hollow-body II's

  • I LOVE that ''acoustic'' sound. Sounds fantastic.

  • what happens if you plug the acoustic pickup into a regular amps clean channeL?

  • @dimeowns100 You will get a very direct even sound. It will have a similar response to the sounds you get when using a line 6 direct in with an amp sim. It actually gives you another tone that is very crisp and clean. Using it for direct in recording actually works very well.

  • the Rich Man's shop

  • that is one sic guitar

  • 2:08 i'd perfer that SG in the back.

  • how well does it stay in tune when you whammy?

  • @ryguyrocker not very well, you didn't hear the out of tune notes? lol

  • I remember Jeff when he had Machinehead in Harlow!

  • i noticed a lefty behind you

  • i got the messgae... you guys love this gitarr

  • purply, sparkly, metallic... Yee!

  • As expected the PRS private stock SC hollowbody II model you did a demo of has a much better piezo sound, but the JPX6 has a much better electric sound... is that mainly down to the simple hollow vs solid construction, or do the pickups / quality of the actual piezo system make more of a difference?

Great playing by the way :)

    -Nic

  • Does your right hand accidently hit the 5-ways switch or not ?

  • So what is your opinion of this guitar?

  • How well does the guitar stay in tune if you abuse the whammy bar? In terms of tuning stability is it more comparable to a full floating system i.e. Floyd Rose, or is it more like a 2-point trem strat trem?

  • does it stay in tune well with the bar?

  • pour moi la démo est mauvaise, beaucoup trop rapide, sur une gratte de ce niveau on a qu'un minuscule appercu... stop la branlette et a quand de vrais tests ?

  • Not trying to be a troll or say "so-n-so is better than what's-his-face" but Rob's playing is more entertaining than John's playing. John has become sterile in his playing IMO since "Awake". When Rob's playing, I enjoy seeing and hearing what he's doing. The reason why we play instruments is to enjoy them. And Rob looks like he's enjoying what he's playing. On the other hand I think that John has become rather bored and robotic.

  • @Vomitore wat

  • 2:33 = Marty Friedman! Awesome review guys!

  • It's a really stunning guitar!......like most guitars in here....i hate fucking propaganda manioulation

  • for a split second it looks like a rosewood fingerboard ...

but actually it is ebony ...

  • @thegreatgarry wrong

  • eh, would've liked to hear it through a mark v like petrucci uses just to see how close it really is. Solid demo though

  • 'See what I did there' Yeah, a five year old saw what you did there. Jesus.

  • @STorpedo Just a joke mate.

    fuck...

  • @goodguitaristatmetal Yeah, a bad one. Made even worse by the decision to point it out afterwards, with a confident wink and a smile. fuck indeed :)

  • It would have been nice if the guitar had been in tune, or if it had been run through an amp more suited for it, like the Roadster in the back or some other higher gain amp. Or if it's important spec characteristics had been talked about, like it being chambered.

  • 1:35 I saw what you did there, clever! Great guitars, the JP models. If only I had enough souls to buy them...

  • Please demo the Roadster I see in there! :D

  • beautiful axe

  • oi play the lespaul with the p90s in the back ground .. Im keen Gimme!! ahh ya..

    Great video as always !

  • IMHO, this guitar is beyond awsome...

  • so compare this to other guitars you've played. How does it hold up to a PRS custom 24 man?

  • @dlr113w I prefer the PRS but it's a personal thing ;-)

  • @dlr113w In my opinion, I would take the PRS over this any day. The playability of the JP guitar's neck is fucking amazing, but the tones of any prs of this price range are better. I would recommend going to a guitar shop such as music 6000 in olympia. They got all the high end shit

  • love the piezo, sounds stunning

rob you deserve that guitar ;)

    greetings from germany

  • I was surprised about the bolt-on neck, and the way it looks like. Isn't that uncomfortable at the higher frets?

  • @SomethinWild Not at all. I played one this past weekend and although it is not my thing I loved how easy it was to play. It is one of the easiest playing guitars I've ever touched.

  • i thought world guitars didnt deal in gibsons

  • woo! I can't believe you actually played with my amp (the electra dyne). Never thought you would! EL-84s or 6L6s in that? Do you remember? How'd you like it?

  • shoulda playyed glasgow kiss

  • Yay for lack of mic clipping (Y). Great guitar and great player.

  • = One of the best guitars EVER!

  • perhaps im being an idiot. what does a piezo actualy do.

  • @MattPurkis acoustic pickup :)

  • @Viterkim oooh . cheers

  • Not enough shreddage buddy...

  • Doesnt sound as good as the N4 Snakeskin to me :D still think it was the best sounding guitar you demoed at WG :p

  • In my honest oppinion, i think world guitars should give their shop to me.

  • stupid question, but is the color of the prs in the background in 3:46 smoked black?

  • @PetieFr Grey Black... smoked back is usually like a sunburst but black lol...

    Bad Example FTW!!

  • Don't like the finish, but it's an amazing guitar.

  • Not 100% on the finish but a lovely guitar

  • Are you seeing Joe Satriani in Bristol in October Chappers??

  • Sorry. But you should demo a tuner when you do these. You could use a different one each time. That way the guitars will be in tune.

  • nice guitar mate :)

  • Thank you Rob, for completely screwing my GAS list....

    *moves JPX to the top*

    Now...who needs a kidney? :)

  • Even Ritchie Blackmore would like the real Deep Purple guitar.

  • UNBELIEVABLE CLEAN SOUND. sounds like no other guitar ive heard

  • needs a tune whenu use both amps together?? i think

  • I hate it when the video ends ...

  • Only ever had one dealing with World Guitars via emails and i have to say how great they were. They didnt have what i wanted but pointed me in the direction of a store that did with a recommendation from them to ensure i was treated well!!. What more could you possible ask for.....far better than any of my local stores :D

  • You could make some vids testing and comparing signature guitars, it could be interesting.

  • 1:35 Ohh yes Chappers! I did see what u did there =D

  • Didn't really play anything that suited the guitar :/ Anyway it is a really lovely guitar, but I've heard that it doesn't fit well in most peoples hands (doesn't have the right feel). How was your feel Rob?

Would love to see some DT riffs/covers from you if you have time at some point. Under a glass moon solo = love

  • No way near as good sounding as an ML-1 i'm afraid. By my ears standards anyway

  • This guy is the Q of guitars! lol

  • Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Chappers on a JP6. Awesome guitar!! I have a 2008 limited edition JP6 in a lush two tone bronze, its the best guitar I,ve ever layed my hands on in my 30 year career as a guitar noodler.

  • sounds like it is out of tune

  • @jajoosp It IS out of tune..

  • why does it have two output jacks?
