Spider, what I took away from Sean's video is a dire need, a NEED, for a good, healthy ego - it is essential and that having one does not make you an ego-maniac. I think the two of you are saying the same thing - ego is a good thing. Sean (it seems to me) is on a mission to help people find and build their own self-confidence.

Being away from people is different from isolating yourself from community and society - you are still participating. Maybe I misunderstood you one this point.

You are right, they are not the same, but I do think that there is a place for the 'isolating yourself' people, as long as it benefits that person spiritually, and the rest of us incidently.
There are many things about the Aussie character that I love, but the 'self effacing' stuff is just bullshit! The Yanks seem to have a more positive attitude towards ego, or is that only Texans?
I do think that Sean and I are talking about the same thing, and I'm pleased that I made you laugh.
