The senate had to have a special meeting to approve his status...that meeting said both parents (PLURAL) had American citizenship. The certificate of live birth provided in Hawaii is actually NOT proof he was born in Hawaii. Hawaii can issue certificates of live birth with citizens of Hawaii with children born elsewhere. His sister was born in Indonesia and has a certificate of live birth from Hawaii also.Natural born citizens, which the constitution requires is different from the.
