"Supposedly" too often is used as a way of insinuating something is true. The real story is that the Mirror, which had to retract the story when they could not put up the proof they said they had, continued to make up stories about other celebs without being stopped.

THe 'Sunday Mirror' which printed the story said they had a tape of Clark stating he had sex with boys. But when Clark's lawyers and the Shi Lanka Government asked for the tape to be handed over as evidence nothing happened. This all happened a few days before he was to be knighted. Clarke was not gay, but a british news paper accused him of paedophilia, but the sri lankan police with interpol investigated clarke and found that the allegations were baseless and cleared him. this happened while prince charles was visiting sri lanka, he was supposed to present the knighthood to clarke but clarke refused to have until he was investigated, this was 10 years ago. the sad thing is one single false report can destroy a life of truth. what matters is what clarke gave to the world.
