  • What sound editing software did they use?

  • Allright, i wanna meet the chimp editor. While you're there, bring in the music director. He may be interested in some Indian movies.

  • omg La Vengeance de Morsay !!!

  • omg red beady eyes!!!

  • Those chimps certainly know how to make a good soundtrack.

  • Do these apes have their own union?

  • Who wrote the book it is based on? Or is the book coming out after the movie?

  • Masterful in-camera editing. What species composed the soundtrack?

  • better than avatar

  • Chimps look like really really old weirdly shaped midgets.

  • Look out Spielberg! These guys are not quite as self involved.

  • Look out Spielberg! These guys are not quite as self involved as you.

  • amazing

  • is this the new harry potter?

  • I loved the first act... but I'm afraid this chimp have serious issues with the set ups and pay off towards the ending. Next time, go for a third of fourth draft of the script before shooting. Oh, and those who critizise the chimp for steeling from Cassavettes... I don't have a problem with that. Better rip off Casavettes than... Michael Bay, for instance, don't you think?

  • they had to stop it turns out they started makeing sex tapes

  • I think I saw my dad in there somewhere, he's really hairy.

  • alalcoolj216 your a ****ing fool because Transformers 2 is the best movie of all times that is the same to u to iveywebb44 your both ****ing fools:p

  • aaaa so cute!!!!.... not hahah so retated those monkys thay all have the shadingan from naruto.

  • I love the budongo trail at the zoo :) (or whatever it was called again) And the rainbow landings.

  • Fucking chimps ripping off avatar.

  • I was hoping for a comedy Monkey movie. With Monkey Chan and Chris Monker, but this documentary will do for now.

  • This video has been entered into the 'Top 10 Pet & Animal Videos of the Week' battle at BattlingTube website.

  • michael bay

  • This is no doubt going to be better than what Hollywood mainly throws out!

  • should have stuck a non-invasive, non-intrusive (tiny) camera on one chimps' head.

  • This looks like about 90% of the videos on YouTube. Nothing unusual here.

  • @butlerproman Apparently chimp DNA is something like 97% identical to human DNA. So there it is.

  • @leifharmsen 99.6% identicle

  • Discusting... its a pure chimpsploitation flick.

  • Edited by chimps too!

  • Better than Avatar.

  • That's a lot of kissing!

  • Don't tell the NBC execs!!!

  • oh god, you know there was a scene they cut from this "movie" of a monkey beating off infront of the camera

should have had the monkey's score the soundtrack, too

  • @hcig They're apes, not monkeys. Other than that you're right.

  • looks like the next 28 days later

  • oh listen , the chimp's wound understand the camera much more if the acctually lense was on the front by the screen so they could see what they were filming at the same time!! they would understand and see what they were filming ! dont you think so????

  • @josho123comecme oh and p.s can someone tell the acctually people to do that because it will help the research alot more to be honest, the chimps arn't that dumb iv seen dumber people , they know what to do like, god!

  • Agreed! I was thinking the same thing when I saw this. They'd be much more curious if there was a viewing screen showing them what they were viewing.

  • there was

  • this is better shot than most michael bay films.

  • This movie is a warning!!

If he fails to attempt to eat you, he'll drag you up a high tree and bang your head(0:36) until unconscious, and suffocate your friends in front of you (0:46) , then stare you down till you die(0:56).

  • Needs more CGI...

  • Looks like trailer for next Boll's movie.

  • Moraleja: cualquier mono puede filmar algo, je, je, es broma ; )

  • funny:-)

  • people always lagh wen i say im scared of monkeys not just chimps i meen all monkeys lemers baby monkeys those little tiny ones the size of your thumb uga im serious to not a joke

  • that chimp would bash that camera into my skull.

  • its crazy to think that one of those chimps good scalp a full grown adult with its bare hands

  • haha

  • chimpanzee Vlogging

  • A heck of a lot more insightful than the State of the Union Address and more truthful.

  • He's our president (FE.CAL.) and his crooked family, hanging around in "'LOS PINOS''' backyard!

  • Will the chimps earn the same money the documentaries do?

  • @pmacgaul the chimps dont need money mate ,, they could do with a better home tho to play around in but what would they want money for god i wish money wasnt invented !!

  • What does a movie shot by chimps look like? Like a movie shot by a 2 year old.

    NEXT...

  • OMG!!!

  • the worst fuckin idea i never see.

  • This looks like something directed by Uwe Boll :D

  • You're a deluded cockbite.

  • This may sell more tha AVATAR! NOT!

  • Looks like it was edited by chimps too!! -Only joking, I couldn't resist.

  • Someone should have explained the point of that box to them. They are not idiots you know. They get such things as this records the pictures, and later you can watch them on here.

After all, there are chimps who not only know sign language, but even teach it to their kids.

  • they were taught. theres an article on digg that explains that.

  • I imagine that human directors will start licking their lenses to create the perfect chimp effect...

  • Definitely more watchable than Transformers 2

  • can we get daily vlogs plz?

  • That's the best idea I have heard of since the dude in New Zealand that made a song only dogs could hear!

  • magnificent creatures so like us

  • better than most human directors

  • I'm USA-American and wtf is BBC and UK?

  • UK Channel and England, you dumb bitch.

  • @drki11joy123: FAIL!

  • LOL!

  • no, we did not come from chimps. chimps too have evolved since the time we split from, not came from. we share a common ancestor somewhere along time ago.

  • giving chimps our precious technology.. what the fuck, they cant evolve themselves. we gotta speeeeeed it up for them?

  • @Stainlessbull53

thats what has happened with us - surprise.

  • Love it! Those are the beautiful faces of our cousins.

  • What a beautiful story... :'-(

  • lol, halirous!

  • we come from them.

  • @akademikz23

our dna was altered at one point in time, however yes we did "come from them".

  • To answer your question, yes. In fact, there is more evidence than we know what to do with. And it goes much deeper than simple aesthetics. Sadly, having said proof, and getting people to actually read the results is an entirely different matter.

  • brilliant! Better than most Will Farrell movies!

  • evolution? ya riiiiiiiiight.

  • This is really artsy...love it

  • Needs a new director...but hats off to the editing team.

  • avatar can kiss my ass this is awsome XD

  • Lol, We will wait a few years and then the whole film crew will be replaced by chimpz...

  • The chimp looks like Michael Moore but the film is better than anything Moore does.

  • They are doing better than I could.

  • This is NOT the first! Spike Lee has been making movies for years.

  • @bigrpb LOL Nice

  • Por fin la BBC se propone investigar que hay en el mundo de Hugo Chavez!

  • @faniatico hahaha

  • filmado por RCTV!

  • better than Most Red Carpet Hollywood Videographers LOL

  • Holy crap these imps are better than some humans! They must be smarter than we thought!

  • I heard the editing was done by an orangutan.

  • omg... this video makes me dizzy monkey pro camera shaker... soon to be earth shakers

  • What a piece of shit. They should have taught them how a camera works by showing them it recording and playing back first at least.

It's even worse than the projects where they give paint supplies to animals without letting them have the opportunity to imitate real artists, artworks or even letting them see anything worthwhile to paint.

  • @reproductivist what were you expecting ape...vater?

    geddit?

  • better them most movies out there.

  • Comment removed

  • lol funny comment by haloman977.

O and cpu1917 look up the meaning of word before it comes out your mouth. I think a dictionary might help you.

anyway cool vid although i don't like monkeys.

  • @usterdboy ok what did haloman977 say...the comment is gone.

  • Well, I felt that the cinematography left little to the imagination, however the story seemed fluent enough that I could follow it. I really felt a connection with the characters as I too climb trees and eat ants.

  • lol

  • Motion Sickness: The Movie!

  • At least from this preview... This seems like quite possibly the dumbest thing the BBC has ever produced. I guess the only upside was that it was probably really cheap to make; just a camera in a protective box.. and let the chimps have it for a few days or week, then edit it, and pitch it to the public as if it's some groundbreaking, amazing, intellectual, piece of art.

  • i'd rather give a camera to a monkey than to a german. these guys make the most terrible movies.

  • 2 thumbs down

  • I don't really see the point of this. Aren't they basically just giving them a box that has a camera in it to play around with? That doesn't really seem like shooting a film. At least not anymore than a river or a tornado could 'shoot a film' if you threw a camera into one and let it get bounced around.

  • true. but what should they have done instead?

send the monkeys to a film school first?

  • No, it's just that the way that they're describing it makes it sound monumental when it's really not that notable. I'm actually sort of skeptical that no one has EVER given a camera to monkeys and let them mess around with it before this.

  • chimps are apes, not monkeys

  • aren't apes part of the monkey family??

  • aren't humans part of the monkey family?? Yet you don't consider yourself a monkey, do ya?

  • Monkeys and apes are both primates, along with humans.

  • Thank you Captain Repeat. I think we were all taught that in like 1st or 2nd grade.

  • @DrakeMagnum humans are monkeys and apes.

  • this is a lot more entertaining than transformers 2. tells you a lot about the human film industry huh?

  • Too bad they didn't show one of them tearing faces off of women.

  • should really just leave filmmaking to the higher primates...

  • Headache...

  • BORING

  • wow chimps are really ugly up close... and way to go england, it's your fault that the tasmanian tiger is dead, and the devils on that path too, but why spend money conserving when you can film apes?

  • thats more dizzying than blair witch... i dont think i can watch this without a puke bucket.

  • 0:12 looks creepy as hell.

  • I was just gonna flippin say that! Scared the crap outt me =o|

  • Google images does NOT show red eyes...

  • What's the news here? "American Pie" came out over 10 years ago...

  • Chimpanzees making movies... Ok tell something new?

  • Watch your back, Michael Bay.

  • haha yes.

  • Fantastic mes en scene! I smell Cannes!

  • That's not Cannes that you smell.

  • LOL I remember when Ricky Gervais went ape (oh a pun!) on Karl Pilkington over on XFM when Karl was talking about a chimp with a video camera..

  • Ah, these are professional chimps. I saw one of them on Hollywood & Vine ..

  • Someone took the "put a bunch of monkeys in a room with typewriters and they'll write shakespear" way too far. This is stupid. They are as interested with the box as they would be with a rock or a ball. It probably took some poor sap hours of his life to sift through the raw footage, trying to cut out good bits that didn't include masturbating, poo flinging, and homosexual mating. The sad part is that people will watch and waste their money on the DVD's someday. Come on humans, Youcan do better.

  • I smell a best doc Oscar!

  • wow that sucks

    score one for humans

  • It's good to see that the camera crew from "Blair Witch" and "Cloverfield" are still getting work.

  • lol nice one!

  • @robertllynch Aw, you beat me to it!

  • This film will give Michael Moore a run for his money. The cute music won't help this idea from being the dumbest idea i've seen in a long while.

  • But if you give an infinite number of chimps an infinite number of video cameras, they will end up making Citizen Kane

  • Maybe, but if you give a single chimp just one camera, you end up with Quentin Tarantino...

  • @meowenstein he kinda looks like a chimp.

  • @Anzer666 True, though it remains to be seen if these BBC chimps are quite as excitable as Tarantino in an interview context... maybe Jonathan Ross can put them to the test.

  • @CecilTheSeaMonster plus they cut out like 3 chapters from the movie.

  • Apic story to tell-

  • Where did these hacks go to directing school?! haha

  • I liked the book better... It was written by 2 chimps & published last year. This movie adaptation by chimps doesn't go into as much detail as the book.

  • you know what they say: if you give a thousand cameras to a thousand chimps then eventually they will make star wars.

  • LOL!

  • @1schwererziehbar1: Already happened. That is how Star Wars was made. The chimp who finally did it, is now knows as George Lucas. ^^

  • excellent! :)

  • HAH xD

  • Bet they will make vlogs on youtube soon Lulz

  • i hope they do makeup tutorials.

  • lololololol :)

  • lol yeah.

  • OOGA OOGA OOGA

  • The close-up at the end was awesome!

  • If they don't steady that camera I'll be too nauseated to watch this.

  • Kong
