Our army was had huge reputation and respect in WWI. One of reasons was our army had respect to the captured solders. They weren't killing them or massacring, unlike AH and others, which was probably the first time in world someone was so kind to the captured soldiers, and latter released them. Also the world is still investigating, and teaching students about our incredibly performed battles - Battle of Cer, Drina, Kolubara, etc...

@CROBlackDEvil jesi ti svjestan da u vojvodini zive 65% srba... cak i ako bi doso referendum nece se ocijepit. referendum za samostalnost je moguce ako prijeti genocid... toga u srbiji nema usuprotno, manjine u srbiji imaju svoje programme na TV na njihovim jezikom i tako dalje.
kosovo je otislo jer je milosevic ih poubijo (ma da me boli kurac za siptare) i bio neprijetelj zapadni zemalja. tadic sve radi da bi se ulizo EU i SADu zato od samostalne vojvodine nema nista.

@CROBlackDEvil Pre će se desiti smak sveta 2012 nego što će se Vojvodina odvojiti od Srbije....75% su Srbi a i manjine imaju velika prava u Srbiji za razliku od nekih tamo drugih država....možda je za tebe Kosovo nezavisno...ali za Srbiju i 70% zemalja Kosovo je Srbija....

Our army was had huge reputation and respect in WWI. One of reasons was our army had respect to the captured solders. They weren't killing them or massacring, unlike AH and others, which was probably the first time in world someone was so kind to the captured soldiers, and latter released them. Also the world is still investigating, and teaching students about our incredibly performed battles - Battle of Cer, Drina, Kolubara, etc...

USA made cowardles act,attacked the German Empire when they were left without army.The German Empire was fighting 3 years,3 years war and then USA attacked them.If the USA were strong and not pussyes they would attacked Germany and Austria-Hungary in the 3rd day of the war,just like Great Britain in ww2

It's a shame Milunka Savic isnt mentioned anywhere in history books. She was Sergant of the Second Steel Platoon, named Steel because they never retreated. She was given The Medail of Honor , Karadjordje Star , Obilic Star , and many other Medails. After war she was forgotten and she worked in the Hospital as cleaner. SHAME!

Serbian army won most of battles against many times stronger AH,
but when Germans joined AH (because of AH failure to conquer Serbia(their plan estimated that Serbia will be conquered in less then a weak of fighting)) ,attacked and bulgarians backstabed ,Serbian army had to retreat over Albania to recover in Greece,

@LjubishaSrb Serbia and Romania as total agricultural countries hadn't chance against AH in ww1. The main frontlines of AH empire were the russian and italian frontlines. Russia economically collapsed and the red revolution won. Italy also economically collapsed in 1917, but italy got american and british french aids and war materials. Russia didn't get any aids from the west.

russia was the main front. The quick russian attack precluded the quick occupy of Serbia. The real problems for Central Powers started with the entering of U.S.A into the war.

I am not going to Underestimate US contribution to Entente victory,however
Central powers lost due to lack of Resources,they were both sea-locked,and landlocked by entente),its simple as that,unlike Entente...Also nationalist movements inside of AH which demanded indep. .

@celebration81 Wrong! For Austrians it was more important to deal with Serbia first and then move to Russia. They failed twice (Cer and Kolubara battles that were first victories of allies in ww1). Salonica front was most important and it decieded the outcome of ww1. Serbs were first to push through on that front.

U obviously dont know what general of army of Austria-Hungary said( he will commit suicide, but only after he sees other Austrian general defeating Serb army) or General of German army von Macensen said to his soldiers before attack on Serbia( U dont go on Italian, nor Russian, French front. U go against 1 new enemy dangerous, though, brave. . .be careful that this small nation dosent. . .

@LjubishaSrb The ratio of German forces were not relevant in AH army. The more important think was the german military leaders, who could change the events. (Austro-Hungarian higher officers were serious alcohol problems, they drunk a lot under the time when they planned the campaignst.) The arrive of German high officers in the frontline made the breakthrough in Eastern front.

Such a little countries as serbia and romania with low economic development and low degree of industrialization , there weren't any hope, only the Entente great powers. (USA FR. BR.E. Russia Italy

So what if it was agricultural country. Hungary was probably most agricultural country in Europe(even nowdays) since they had so much farming land.
Usa joined at the end of war when everything was finished and Salonica front breached, Italian front collapsed so the needed French to help, Russians were donig bad (Brusliov offensive). Btw, its Austyrians who said that it was hardest against Serbs!

@timotimekvej Look historic economic data from the era. Hungary had similar level of industrialization and GDP as Italy. Balkan states were traditionaly backward, due to the great schism (Medieval Orthodox world was backward except Constantinople) and turkish occupation.

Medieval Balkans was in golden age before Ottoman empire while small western barbarina states were schratching to survive. They were in period of Dark age like we were under Ottomans. only 49% of families works in agriculture in Hungary in 1900. In Serbia Romania it the ratio over 90%. The main AH front were the Italian and Russian. Serbia Romania were called as subsidiary frontline in ww1.

@celebration81 French general had only words of praise to thta serbian hihglanders and shepards that U underestimate so much. U tryied to defeat us, but each time U failed and that wasnt the case with Russian unsuccessful offensive(Brusliov). Dont compare Romania and Serbia in ww1. U needed German empire, Bulgarians to help u with us and U failed to destroy us again.
