Az Esti dal Kodály Zoltán egyik legismertebb kórusműve. A népdalt Kodály gyűjtötte 1922-ben a Heves (ma Nógrád) megyei Pásztón, a kórusműben szereplő első két versszakkal együtt. A harmadik versszak Szeged környékéről való, egy 1878-ban megjelent gyűjteményből.

@szilvanna77 mint ősTáncházas mondom: az 1922-ben Pásztón énekelt népdalhoz képest valóban nem autentikus az előadásmód (pl. vibrátó), de Kodály Zoltán műve is feldolgozás! Egyébként F dúrban és nem G dúrban, mint ezen a videón. (A magyar népdalok nem többszólamúak.) És a művésznő pontosan megérezte ennek a népdalnak a "lelkét"! Szerintem így gyönyörű, ahogy van.

actually, the title of the song is "Esti dal" which means "evening song". You will find more under that name, even here on YouTube. If you ask me, it is the most beautiful song ever written.

Kodály collected this folksong in 1922 in Pásztó / Heves (now Nógrád) County with the first two stanzas together which are in his choral work also. THE THIRD STANZA is from the environs of Szeged, from a collection which was released in 1878. Every folksong has various versions - as this fairness also.
