On the latest Blue Peter they showed us the new Blue Peter garden and they also had this time capsule buried in it. I've seen a lot of people wondering what will happen to it and since they buried again, there's nothing to worry about.
@icthar The only reason i know about it is cos my dad had all these old 'Blue Peter Annuals.' Beautiful books documenting the best years of Blue Peter. I must say i was quite disappointed when i finally went to England and watched an episode of the newer series, it seemed so cheap compared to the golden days documented in my dads books
Goodness what a disappointment! I was a little kid when the FIRST Blue Peter time capsule was buried, and i remember thinking that I would be ''old'' when it was opened! But why on earth didn't they take real care, making the box properly watertight....surely not impossible, as others have said, Tupperware! a great disappointment.
A thought occurs to me, is the blue peter time capsule under the millenium dome still there seeing as it was completely gutted when they turned it into the O2 arena?
Same for me. I remember watching them buying the 1971 capsule, and hearing about the relocation and the 1984 capsule. But like you I missed the digging up. I'd had completely forgotten about it until now.
I can't wait until 2050. We will be able to use our brain embedded BBC iPlayer to watch the robot Blue Peter presenters of the time using technology to see in to the box without even digging it up.
Sadly I doubt in 2050 Blue Peter will even still be going. I doubt even this comment will still be here! Funny how time moves on though. Who'd have thought wooden boxes were a good idea to bury at the time. :)
...it won't be if they keep faking phone-ins...LOL!
What a lovely video...it is really sad that they had to dig them up and that is it now! Amazing to think they have just been lying there under the soil so organically!

How strange. We never go this show in Australia, but all Dr Who fans are aware of it. It feels a bit like looking through someone else's old photo's.

It's a shame Blue Peter is no longer "The Best Loved Children's Programme". It went down hill when BBC tried to modernise the show :L

@Andreaish1 Nah the uk changed. Kids no longer wanted 'cheesy' tv kids shows. I hated/liked this as a kid. Hated the old cheesy feeling of it.

Been wanting to see this for years. Never actually saw it at the time, even though I wanted to. Looking forward to Part 4 once you get it up!
