I have had really good luck with 2s and that is this little beasts mainstay. This was just to see how fast it was on 3s on the street. On dirt 3s would just spin the tires so i dont see the point, speed dont mean crap without control.
@sibylvane75 i had no issues on the street with the 3s lipo, but i wouldnt even think of running it offroad with 3s. And i used stock gearing but hpi doesnt recomend that and i usually only do a few passes
That would of sucked if that car ran it over. That is crazy fast I have the savage xs flux but never put a lipo in it yet just Nimh and that is really fast I might have to go get a lipo battery today and try that out
it is easy to control in high speed

@richandiben both have issues but i prefer the savage, having the 1/10 scale 4pole system in it and using full size lipos is what clinchs it for me

Stock pinion or optional (from box)?
Do you think that using in this way (asphalt, straight on) 3s the esc wouldn't fry?I understood it fries when you use 3s offroad...is it right?
