can you send me a little tutorial on how to build that control panel of yours? I noticed you built it out of a breadboard, and I can't find any thing online that will tell me how!
I'd really appreciate it if you could send me some schematics!
You do better fire work than many techs that are older than me. You labeled everything, have a good understanding of electronics and probably know to do a load test with batteries! : ) Good luck with your dreams! You will make it.
great set up i have made my own based on watching this vid, also mine will send an email via my server and is hooked up to a gsm phone so i will not only get email but a phone call to say there is a fire at home. sweet
You Should move your smoke detector it is within 30cm of the peak of the wall and the ceiling, in that 30cm peak area the air is 'dead' smoke will not reach the smoke detector to provide the earliest possible warning. You should move it to the centre of the room or hallway.
Wow! A working system literally from scratch. Very impressive. If you do eventually get some real equipment, I suggest you hook it up separately and leave this one as is...very cool.
Wow! That is all just friggin impressive! Cool! You must be a genius in the whole frickin electrical field to do that. Wow that's cool. Also, you kind of speak with a southern drawl or so I think I hear. It makes you sound hot. XD XD XD
The lever moves two K'nex "hinges" which slide down the bar you see behind, flipping the switch and activating the alarm. If you'd like, I could send you a piccie of the mechanism, without anything else showing...

NewAgeServer 4 years ago

danll5 4 years ago
i don't know, but NOT VERY LOUD AT ALL.
NewAgeServer 4 years ago
You should have gone to radioshack and purchase piezos instead of using speakers.
danll5 4 years ago
Well I was trying to build it with what I had for parts.
NewAgeServer 4 years ago
It is still a nice system hands down.
danll5 4 years ago
LOL
theofficalmiga 4 years ago
You should get those Alarm speakers with strobes and hook it up to your control panel, that would be so cool, but make the sound louder!
theofficalmiga 5 years ago
Wow your kitchen is a mess....

?? I never went into the kitchen. I think you were referring to the basement.

Wow! A working system literally from scratch. Very impressive. If you do eventually get some real equipment, I suggest you hook it up separately and leave this one as is...very cool.
brettman273 5 years ago
I had to take it down. The "temporary" tape was letting go and the components were falling down.

Nope. I live in the northern U.S. I just have an "east coast" accent.
NewAgeServer 5 years ago
Whatever. It still makes you sound good.
JLiza 5 years ago
